Kungsholmen's Debating Society

KDS is proud to present that Kungsholmens Gymnasium is the official host for the second STHLM-League tournament - one of Sweden's largest WSDC tournament ever - to be held the 16th of March 2013.

"The tournament is open for anyone to join and will be a great way to get more experience and meet some of Sweden's best debaters. With distinguished adjudicators and the beauty of Mälaren outside your window, there's nothing that could stop you from coming."

Invitation letters have been distributed to schools and debate societies across the nation.

More information will follow, but KDS will send two or three teams. If you're interested, make sure to come to the next meeting which will be announced soon!

On behalf of the team, I'd like to announce that we had a very successful day at the National Debate Championships in Sigtuna on Saturday:

The team made it into the final against Hvitfeldtska. This after winning two tough rounds in a very strong field of six other schools, including: Sigtuna, The Cathedral Schools of Lund and Uppsala, IEGS and VRG. Although the very tough Hvitfeldska team edged us out, our team (Klas Wetterberg, Ida Andersson and Adrian Stymne) performed superbly!

Klas Wetterberg was chosen as one of the five students to represent Sweden in the World Championships in Ankara in January. Ida Andersson was chosen for the second team of the national team.

Thanks to all who came and supported the team through try-outs! Congratulations!
