Snart inviger Fylkingen sina nya lokaler i ABF-huset.

From the Crow’s to the Cod’s Perspective is a weekend workshop with Jana Winderen exploring how to listen to and record sound from different perspectives and in different situations. Through practical exercises, we will explore environments and situations, using the participants’ own experiences and interests as a starting point.

The workshop is aimed at users at EMS who want to deepen their relationship with field recording as an artistic practice.

Jana Winderen is an artist based in Norway with a background in mathematics, chemistry and fish ecology. Her practice pays particular attention to audio environments and to creatures which are hard for humans to access, both physically and aurally – deep under water, inside ice or in frequency ranges inaudible to the human ear. Her activities include site-specific and spatial audio installations and concerts, which have been exhibited and performed internationally in major institutions and public spaces.

Apply via EMS website. Last day to apply September 27, 2026.

He continued his studies at IRCAM, within the composition and computer music programme.

The author of some fifty works (acousmatic, mixed and instrumental), he performs regularly in France and internationally. Holder of the Certificate of Aptitude (CA) in electroacoustic composition, he teaches composition and sound creation at the Conservatoire and the Pôle Supérieur de Paris, and is committed to promoting creativity in all its forms.

The music of electroacoustic composer Bekah Simms possesses an enormous sonic palette: timbrally vibrant and ranging from superabundant electronic grotesquerie to lush microtonal waves of sound, their varied musical output has been heralded as “cacophonous, jarring, oppressive — and totally engrossing!” (CBC Music) and “visceral contemporary music that enfolds external inspirations with dazzling rigor and logic” (Peter Margasak).

Bekah’s music has been commissioned by and performed at major festivals across Europe and North America including Wien Modern, Time:Spans, Gaudeamus Newmuziekwrek, ACHT BRÜCKEN, Music on Main, and New Music Dublin. Their acousmatic music has been presented at two consecutive World New Music Days (Faroe Islands and Portugal) as well as the Sound/Image festival in London.  Bekah has also been the recipient of over 40 awards, competitive selections, nominations, and prizes, including a 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship, the 2019 Barlow Prize, and the 2023 JUNO Award for Classical Composition of the Year.

Bekah is a Lecturer in Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

LTY (Lai Tsung-Yun) is a Taiwanese sound and media artist working across modular synthesis, algorithmic composition, and real-time signal processing. His practice explores the relationship between sound, perception, and space, creating immersive sonic environments where noise, electronic signals, and acoustic gestures intersect.

He is the curator of Lacking Sound Festival, one of Taiwan’s longest-running platforms for experimental sound and sound art, and has played an important role in fostering international exchange and expanding the visibility of experimental sound culture in Taiwan. Through both performance and curatorial practice, Lai investigates how sound can shape sensory experience and map emotional and social terrains.
