New Publications from !
Secondary English in Action offers practical strategies for secondary English teachers, emphasising classroom application to foster a love for the subject. It goes beyond exam-focused teaching, guiding educators on enhancing students' skills in oracy, text interpretation, and purposeful writing. The book is a valuable resource for educators at all stages, from beginners to experienced teachers, seeking to inspire student engagement in English.
Beyond Boundaries offers a model for effective leadership in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within school trusts, featuring case studies of successful practices that help SEND learners thrive. It is structured around the Primary Colours Model of Leadership, focusing on six key elements: setting strategic direction, creating alignment, building relationships, creating teams, planning, and delivering results. While primarily aimed at trust leaders, it is also relevant for those leading SEND provision across various educational groups.
researchED is an educator-led organisation that aims to connect research with classroom practice. In this book, Stephen Lockyer compiles insights from expert contributors to show how small, consistent changes in literacy instruction can significantly improve student outcomes across subjects. Each chapter provides practical ideas for educators to implement in their classrooms, ensuring a direct impact on student literacy and learning.

Government grant for textbooks and teacher guides!
In Sweden, the 2024 government grant aims to enhance access to printed textbooks and teaching guides in schools and can be applied for by principals of preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, special schools, and Sami schools. The grant may only be used for printed textbooks and teaching guides that are linked to specific educational materials and not for digital resources, fiction or non-fiction, or books for school libraries. The purpose is to increase, not replace, current purchases; therefore, principals must cover costs equivalent to the average expenditure per student over the past three years, and the grant is only awarded for costs exceeding this level.
