I have gone through many states of mind and feelings during the past week. I have been quite exhausted of all the feelings to be honest.
1) ANGER + SADNESS I accidently (tired, late in the evening, not thinking) fired the kiln using the wrong program (glaze fire 1220 C when it should have been bisque fire 980 C). I have always been told that glaze firing ”greenware” i.e. unfired pieces, would lead to explosion/shattered pieces. The kiln contained an entire order… I was a wreck the day after, when I realized I had started the wrong program. For sure the kiln would be full of a thousand pieces when I opened it. Would the kiln also be damaged?
2) EXTREME JOY I opened the kiln and there were no broken pieces!! Not a single. And the kiln intact.
3) SURPRISE, NOT KNOWING & IN NEED OF ADVICE How could they survive? The firing curve is steep and pays no attention to what I vaguely know about clay, vapour, quartz inversion, thermal shock etc. Old truths?! Or is it my Rohde EcoTop that is magical? Or do they just look good now, but will crack soon after? Can I fire them again or will they now crack? And the usual question, how to manage to apply glaze nicely to already fired/non absorbant pieces??

Porcelain wall hangings that I made this winter are now hanging on the wall in the summer house in the woods. Just porcelain clay with a dash of copper/cobalt oxide and transparent glaze. They weigh almost nothing!

S U M M E R Here are some of the vases that I will be delivering to Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde (Waldemarsudde museum shop) next week. Floral motifs selected specifically to match the current exhibition ”Det blommande – Konst & botanik” that you can visit until September 13, 2026. Very exciting, I recommend it!

Summer is here! And summer means water 💦 means fish in the sea 🐠🐟🐡
I have made quite a lot of these plates in the past 2 years. Luckily they have all survived the third firing to 1200 degrees celsius that I need to put them through to attach the decal. Luck turned today and one of the plates broke but these 3 sweethearts made it in one piece.

Just taken out the new water holders I made for our butterflies 🦋These particular two I won’t be seeing until July but our yellow friends ”brimstone” (?) are flying around alteady

Finally taken the time to assemble some more of the forms created over the past 7 months…(still a backlog to process).
And sin the backgound a new wall hanging, porcelain with copper oxide details. I posted a video a while ago showing it in the making.

It surely takes time to complete a project! To go from idea, via prototype(s), numerous mistakes, redesign and simply just the MAKING of things. I got this idea of making small sculptures that would fit on a table or in a window and started on the project in September last year. I reckon I am about halfway through now, still work remaining. But far enough to give you an idea of what I am up to. Hope you find it interesting!
