📢 The film "She Said" aired on the 18th of November 2022 in the USA.

The American biographical drama is based on the New York Times investigation that exposed Harvey Weinstein's history of abuse and sexual misconduct against women.

This case kicked off a movement. There would go on to be 85 million tweets about . This hashtag became a prominent example of digital feminist activism, where citizen activists created hashtags to highlight social issues the media was failing to report on. With “hashtag journalism”, reporters follow Twitter-led hashtag trends to assess what issues to cover in the news cycle.

80% of sexual violence cases go unreported. Perpetrators are rarely charged and continue to participate in society. This shows the importance of awareness of this issue.

❔ HOW ARE LAWS MADE IN AUSTRIA?

Draft legislation is submitted to the Nationalrat by members of the Nationalrat, by the Bundesrat or by one third of the members of the Bundesrat, or by the Federal Government.

Draft legislation formulated by the Federal Government must be adopted unanimously by the cabinet.

The draft legislation is provisionally formulated by the respective Federal Minister and then sent out for review to the states and the statutory representative bodies before being approved by the cabinet.

The respective Federal Minister may modify the draft legislation to implement changes suggested during the review process, but he or she is not obliged to make these changes.

In general, ex parte refers to something that is one in the benefit of one party in a legal case. This is usually a decision that is made in favor of one party without waiting for an opinion from the other side. Ex parte may also refer to improper contact with a party or a judge, such as meeting with the party or the judge without a lawyer from the opposing side present.

This late Middle English noun derives from Latin, ‘to be informed’, a phrase originally occurring at the start of the writ, from certiorare ‘inform’, from certior, comparative of certus ‘certain’.
