🌟 I am happy to share the release of my Phd student's (Lic. Alper Idrisoglu) latest journal publication, which is a fruitful collaboration between researchers from Blekinge Institute of Technology and Lund University.

🔍 What is all about? Using Machine Learning, the vowel “A” phonation contains enough information for the binary classification of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The variability observed between validation and test set outcomes suggests promising potential for voice-based monitoring of COPD progression.

Abbas Cheddad - Research -, Professor in Science at the department of Computer Science, BTH presented his research at the in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He obtained the degree in Computer Science from the University of Technology, in 2005 and the (with a distinction award) from the faculty of Computing and , University of Ulster, United Kingdom in 2009.

His research is about “Active Restoration of Audio Signals using Learning and Latent Information”, is to put forward a new framework which proposes the fusion of audio dither-based steganography with localised /deep learning for the active reconstruction of lost signals.

The focus of the intended research is in the area of intelligent realities with the development of new intelligent virtual 3D environments, interaction techniques, and immersive visual analysis/visualization. The challenge lies in individualizing the design, management, and use of these environments, adapting the interaction techniques, and providing visual analytics to improve the overall user experience. Artificial intelligence (AI) will play a crucial role in the individualization process. The growing availability of user data helps designers identify user trends and can be leveraged to shape user environments and visual analytics.

The Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may involve teaching up to a maximum of one-fifth of the working hours.
