👑💛 This weekend in Stockholm!

A very special anniversary is being celebrated in Sweden: Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Fifty years ago, on 19 June 1976, the couple were married in Stockholm. Since then, Sweden has followed their journey through five decades together.

✨ As their wedding anniversary falls on Midsummer Eve this year, the official celebrations will take place on 13 June instead.

📍 Programme highlights:
🚣 The Royal Couple will first travel aboard the historic royal barge Vasaorden across Stockholm’s waters from Skeppsbron to Djurgården.
🚗 At 2:30 pm, a ceremonial procession through Stockholm will follow. The route runs from Djurgården via Strandvägen, Stureplan, Kungsgatan and Sergels Torg to Kungsträdgården.
🌸 Under the theme Kärlekens dag (Day of Love), Stockholm’s streets and public squares will be decorated with flowers and flags.
🎶 At 3:00 pm, the City of Stockholm will host a free concert in Kungsträdgården celebrating love and music from the past 50 years. Admission is free.
🇸🇪 A special day for Stockholm and a wonderful opportunity to experience Sweden’s capital from its royal side.
