IES elever presterar bra på de nationella proven och resultaten stämmer väl överens med slutbetygen.

– Vi är glada över att det arbete som våra lärare, rektorer och academic managers lägger ned för att säkerställa en korrekt och rättvis betygsättning är framgångsrikt, men det är ett arbete som aldrig tar slut, säger Annakarin Johansson Sandman, Head of Academics vid Internationella Engelska Skolan.

Liksom de senaste åren är överensstämmelsen mellan slutbetyg och resultat på de nationella proven större för IES än för Sverige som helhet.

IES elever uppvisar ännu större överensstämmelse mellan slutbetygen och resultaten på de nationella proven i ämnena svenska, svenska som andraspråk, matematik och engelska. Det framgår av resultaten på de nationella proven för årskurs nio för läsåret 2022/2023.

Internationella Engelska Skolan’s overall goal is to give every student the possibility to achieve high academic expectations and aspirations and to navigate through an international environment, whatever their background. The academic expectations are high for every student, in every school that IES runs. The journey there has to be tailored to the composition of students and local circumstances, though. To succeed in this, IES must maintain a consistently high level of quality across all our operations, based on the same underlying principles.

Football Cup anniversary at IES!

This year 14 IES schools joined for the 10th anniversary of the IES Football Cup. Each school took 12 boys and 12 girls (336 students in total) and travelled with their teams to Kärrtorp IP in Stockholm last Wednesday. 92 matches were played throughout the day and 20 senior school students from IES refereed the matches.

The sun was shining on IES Täby’s junior school as the year 6 football team travelled to Kärrtorp to represent IES Täby. “Our students were fantastic both on and off the pitch”, said Mr Tony Fenton, who organised the event. “Their behaviour during the day was exceptional. The boys cheered on the girls and the girls did the same to the boys. The togetherness in the group was something I have never seen before.”

The format this year was two groups of seven, with each team playing each other in 12 minute matches. To qualify for the knockout stages, teams had to finish in the top four. “Memories and friendships were made on this truly amazing day”, said Mr Tony Fenton. “Sportsmanship, comradery and a solid sense of fair play were in abundance.”

The way IES works with integrity in grading continues to be successful

Integrity in grading is a major priority of IES’ systematic quality work. In 2021, we introduced a new type of statistics database, which the individual IES schools and IES centrally use to evaluate, compare and analyse grading. The Swedish Schools Inspectorate (Skolinspektionen), which conducts regular audits of the grading work of school operators, has also confirmed that IES’ grading works well.
