We are hosting an exciting online workshop with Inga | Inspiration Gathered about menstrual health in public spaces + hosting our monthly community Period Picnic to bring people together in a relaxed and casual setting!

17/07/2026

Yesterday was our first Period Picnic, and event back in Malmö this year!

It was so nice to be back with our community, we spent time getting to know each other, played a quiz and ate a homemade berry pie crumble (yes pie and crumble together, it was delicious - even if I am bias 😛) while talking about the stigma of periods in school and work places. A key point we discussed was the importance of better education and discussion of periods to young people before they menstruate. To help create a better understanding and prevent the feeling of fear at the onset of menstruation and through their menstrual life.

If you want to join our next Period Picnic we will be hosting one at the end of every month. Reach out if you want to join the one in August, or keep an eye on our page for more details to come 🫶🏼

We’ve all been there. Hiding a tampon up your sleeve, cancelling plans because the pain is too much, smiling through a meeting when your body is telling you to stop🩸

She/Her* - We acknowledge that not all women menstruate and not all people who menstruate are women.

Periods are a part of life for half the population, and yet the silence, the shame, and the stigma follow us everywhere we go. Into our workplaces, our social lives, our relationships, and our heads.

At Beyond the Bits Project, we’re done with that silence.

We create workshops and events that bring people together to learn about their health, have honest conversations, and find community in the things we’ve been told to keep quiet for too long.

And our next one? It’s all about periods in public life. 👇

🗓️ Bloody Normal: A Workshop for Public & Workplace Life
📅 Wednesday 19 August, 18:00-20:00
💻 Virtual | 2 hours
🔗 Link in bio to book your spot

We will also be hosting an in-person workshop about this soon; more details to come.

Whether you menstruate, love someone who does, or just want to show up better for the people around you, this one is for you.

Because the more we talk, the less we hide. 💬

Malmö Pride isn’t just a party, it’s a reminder that visibility is protection. Every year, people still lose jobs, family, and safety just for being who they are. Marching says: we see you, we stand with you, and we’re not going anywhere. 🏳️‍🌈

Pride started as a protest, and until everyone can live openly without fear, it still is.

Highlights from Media Evolution’s Summer Block Party ☀️

A 100m lunch, sustainable food tour, yoga, ice cream, and jazz — and somehow the part I can’t stop thinking about is a workshop on AI!

The session was such a rich conversation, about AI democratising who gets to build and create, but also the very real risks of fake knowledge and eroding critical thinking. The comment that stuck with me most: AI is like microplastics. created to solve one problem, but accumulating in ways we don’t always see or understand yet.

& that got me thinking about my own work in CSE, how AI shapes what knowledge people can access, whose voices are centred, and what that means for young people’s ability to think critically about their own bodies, relationships, and rights.

So many questions, not enough answers yet. If this resonates with your work, I’d love to chat 💬

Thank you for such a brilliant day in Malmö 🌞

Friendly reminder that the maypole, yes, the one everyone dances around at Midsommar, is a fertility symbol. A decorated pole. In the ground. We all know what it represents.

We will happily dance around a giant symbolic 🍆 at a family celebration, but the second someone mentions 🩸, smeggual health, or pleasure it’s suddenly “inappropriate.”

Make it make sense.

Fertility isn’t just about making babies, it’s your cycle, your hormones, your libido, your body working as it should. And all of that deserves open conversation, not just a once-a-year dance.

This Midsommar: same energy for your reproductive health as you bring to the maypole 🌸

P.S. Glad Midsommar to all of our Swedish community 🫶🏼
