Ready for tomorrow's event! Together with 11 kids, we will use science to experiment two different methods of making 3D paint. Our math skills will be tested as we calculate the measurements and our creative side will shine through our finished art pieces.

It'll be messy, educational and fun just the way we like it!

My children are rarely bored these days. I want to change that.

The infinite access they have to instant entertainment makes it very uncomfortable for them to know what to do when their devices are turned off. To some extent, encouraging boredom for my kids feels almost like a punishment for me as I know they will start hovering around me, repeating the phrase "I'm bored."

I will have to push through it because I know how important it is to quiet the world around me enough for me to hear my thoughts. My most creative ideas are usually formulated when I'm out for a walk or simply cleaning because these are the times that my mind wanders and imaginative ideas and solutions to difficult problems present themselves. I want the same for my kids.

I am embracing boredom for my children and hope that their choice to sit idly from time to time and daydream will encourage them to think creatively and appreciate their free time. Wish me luck! Shareen Galsgaard Activity Creator
