New chess club time and location is Monday 2:00-3:00PM in P-5.

There will be a chess club as usual tomorrow, but due to the changes in schedule a lot of people can't attend. We might have to find a new time for next week and will update the page if that happens.

The IB chess tournament is coming up tomorrow!
It will be held in Ka01, starting at 9:00. Make sure your team isn't late.

Let's hear some suggestions for the best day for the second weekly chess meet up. Please only vote/suggest if you will be participating on that day! :) So far we far have heard most people asking for Mondays and Wednesdays after school, which works very well for us.

IB chess tournament!
Teams:
• 4 people in each team (Teachers are allowed to have 4 to 6 players as some will leave for meetings)
• Players will be seeded (You seed them yourselves)
• Top seed plays against other top seed, second seed against other second seed, etc.
• Black or white will randomly be selected for top seed match, odd and even seeds play opposite colors
• Win-2p,Loss-0p,Draw-1p
• Team with most points wins
• 8 Teams maximum
Tournament format:
• Two brackets, with four teams in each
• Starting round robin
• After the three rounds have been played, two teams from each bracket advance.
• Semi-finals, finals played
Game format:
• 20 each minutes for playing
• If a player touches a piece he/she does not have to move that specific piece.
• If a player puts down a piece on a slot he/she can’t regret that move.
