Our multicultural community offers many opportunities to celebrate diversity and share different perspectives. LIS is an International Baccalaureate World School, authorised in May 2009. We offer the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes for students from 3 to 16 years of age. In addition to the PYP and the MYP, we have an international daycare where children from the age of 2 can start. Families choose Lund International School because we limit class sizes to 16, we have high academic levels and we foster a structured yet warm and welcoming atmosphere. Healthy lunches are also freshly prepared each day at our on-site kitchen. LIS is located close to the city centre of Lund, easily accessible by bus (numbers 1, 6, 171), car, bike, electric scooter and is ideally located for people who work at Lund University, the hospital, Max IV and ESS (to name but a few).

LIS Career Event - 8th October, 2026

Connecting classroom learning to real-world applications is a core part of our mission, and our recent Careers Event brought that connection to life for our upper primary and MYP students.

Organised by our dedicated Careers and Expertise Parent Community Team, the event brought local industry professionals directly to our students, offering them a unique opportunity to explore future pathways through hands-on activities and small-group presentations across fields like software, civil, and chemical engineering, law, quality and project management, finance, physiotherapy, hospitality, Tetra Pak, and even aviation with a visiting pilot!

We extend our sincere gratitude to our parent team for their support in connecting our school with local experts and creating such a memorable, practical learning experience.

Can a picture tell a story? Like, can it really? For our PYP2 Blue English unit, we went on a wild goose chase to find out! We even created an 'Experience Map' to collect our most epic fails and turn them into a story 🧐

To mark the start of our Harvest Festival, our students have been reflecting on the concept of abundance and everything we are grateful for. Students, teachers, and parents have all joined in—cutting out leaves and writing heartfelt messages of thanks to help our gratitude tree grow! 🍁

Teaching our children to appreciate how lucky we are means showing them how to care for others. We are so proud to team up with Diakonicentralen in Lund, gathering food donations to help them serve warm meals to local individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Together as an LIS family, we are grateful for what we have and even more grateful for the opportunity to give back to our local community.

Last week we took 20 students to Malmö for the cross country competition with BISM, MIS and ISLK. They all did their absolute best, showing fighting spirit, perseverance, camaraderie and great sportsmanship. This resulted in several PB's and top 10 places, including a silver medal in the junior girls division.

Well done everyone and a big thanks to Bladins for hosting!

Can a picture make you LOL, cry, or go 'huh'? 🤔 We dug into this question in our PYP2 Blue English unit and discovered that, yeah, pics can tell some wild stories! We even created an 'Experience Map' to collect our own crazy experiences that could become the next big tale 😁

Afternoons in Fritids 1 are all about building social skills and self-expression.

Through hands-on arts and crafts and personalized "All About Me" projects, students practice fine motor skills and writing. It’s a lovely way for them to reflect on who they are, sharing their favorite animals, preferred colors, and what they want to be when they grow up!

We spend lots of time outside in the school courtyard enjoying group games—like the parachute game, which is perfect for building teamwork and gross motor skills.

Paired with regular visits to the school library to spark a love for reading, the Fritids 1 team is proud to create a warm space where every child feels heard, safe, and happy!📖🎨🏃‍♀️

MYP1 have been working on their Summative Assessment for Language and Literature. The conceptual lens for their first unit is adaptation and storytelling, and their task is to adapt a well known myth or legend into a short play to be performed for an audience of PYP students.

This performative focus has become a feature of Lang Lit for MYP1 over the past few years and gives an opportunity for the newest members of the MYP to develop their confidence, collaborative skills, as well as their writing and speaking.

Here they are busily running through the scripts, checking for errors, acting out parts and beginning to make props and set pieces for their performances. Classes are already booked to come and see them perform in a few weeks time!

♻️🌍 Our New Unit: Sharing the Planet – Recycling

PYP1 Yellow have started our new Unit of Inquiry by exploring the importance of recycling and the choices we can make to care for our environment.

After a classroom provocation where we created a “mess” and challenged the children to think of solutions, the students came up with a fantastic idea of creating our very own classroom recycling centre! ♻️

Together, they are exploring different materials, what can and cannot be recycled, and how we can reduce, reuse and recycle to help protect our planet. Most importantly, our recycling centre will not be just a project for this unit — it will become part of our classroom throughout the year, giving the children opportunities to practise responsible choices every day.

We are so proud to see the ideas of our students' in PYP Yellow turning into meaningful action! 💚🌍♻️

Our EYP After School Program was packed with energy this week!

Indoors, students used their fine motor skills to craft photo portrait collages on paper plates. Outside, they transformed geometric shape-tracing into imaginative drawings, enjoyed a high-energy cone obstacle course, and played ball games, among other outdoor activities.

We love seeing our youngest ASP learners stay active, collaborate, and express their creativity every single afternoon!

The 13th of September 2026 marks what would have been Roald Dahl’s 110th birthday! In the LIS library crafting factory, students in PYP1, PYP2 and PYP3 highlighted the works created by the British poet, screenwriter, fighter pilot and author that sat in a battered old armchair and penned famous tales such as Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Stories that have been part of so many people's childhoods, and that are now becoming part of the students' own. 🎉📖🎂
