The working committee has invited the Doctoral student ombudsman, Aleksandra Popvic to come and speak about the right to prolongation. All are more than welcome to listen to her from 12.00-12.20 including Q&A.

"Doktorandstoppet kommer få stora konsekvenser för såväl doktorandmiljön som forskarmiljön" menar Emma Sundkvist, ordförande för Humanistisk-Teologiska Doktorandrådet (HTDR).

"Vissa ämnen har inte så många doktorander och många kommer försvara sin avhandling i år. Det kommer därför bli en väsentligt mindre grupp doktorander på många institutioner vilket naturligtvis påverkar doktorandernas forskningsvardag genom mindre seminariemiljöer och möjlighet till kollegialt utbyte. Det försvårar också arbetet att hitta doktorandrepresentanter till HT-fakulteternas organ och styrelser".

There are several advantages to be a representative i HTDR:
- You get the opportunity to influence the doctoral students situation and conditions
- It is stimulating to develop an understanding of the larger context in which you as a doctoral student is conducting research
- It is very educational and you get insight into how the university works
- All the time you spend on your mission, you get compensated in the form of prolongation of your PhD position
- It is a good thing to have on your resume

Welcome to a two-day seminar and workshop on publishing in international academic journals, with focus on strategies as well as the actual handcraft.

Lena Halldenius, Professor in Human rights studies, gives a lecture on s on the process from idea to reviews. Marianne Gullberg shares her experiences and advices as a journal editor. Richard Andersson, who defended his thesis in 2012, gives us an insight in article writing/publishing in relation to dissertation writing and PhD life.

During the second day (10/10) the participants will be divided into three separate groups, each of which will focus on a different aspect of article writing process.

The seminar and workshop will be conducted entirely in English.
