The 2022/2023 Board of Jus Humanis is officially announcing its Annual General Meeting on October 18, 2024, at 16:00 (4PM) at the Beijing Room in The Raoul Wallenbeg Institute. At the AGM, members will elect a new board for the new academic year.
These are the available positions and their description below:
President
Vice-President

Social Media & PR Manager

To run for one of the above positions, you must:
Be a Lund University student & a member of Jus Humanis.
Be interested in human rights.

PRESIDENT
The President leads Jus Humanis with the goal of cultivating a vibrant human rights community at Lund University. The President oversees all Jus Humanis activities, sets programmatic goals, coordinates meetings, including the Annual Meeting, manages administrative duties, and serves as the primary public face and point of contact for the organization. With input from the board, the President makes final decisions about co-sponsorship opportunities, events, and budget. The President also coordinates Jus Humanis’ participation in public events, coalition meetings, recruitment, and fundraising. The President serves as a resource to all Jus Humanis members and assists with event planning and other Jus Humanis activities as needed.
VICE-PRESIDENT
The Vice-President performs all functions delegated to them by the President. The Vice-President performs the duties of the President when the President is unable to perform them. They lead in coordinating the winter forum, particularly in researching and developing ideas for a forum topic. The Vice-President is also responsible, with the Social Media & Public Relations Manager, for reviewing, editing and publishing content to the blog. The Vice-President serves as a resource to all Jus Humanis members and assists with event planning and other Jus Humanis activities as needed. The Vice-President is also encouraged to think strategically and creatively about ways to publicise Jus Humanis’ various activities and to raise the profile of Jus Humanis and human rights at Lund University and beyond.
SECRETARY
The Secretary is charged with recording the minutes of all Jus Humanis meetings and with maintaining accurate documentation of all Jus Humanis activities. The Secretary should be well-equipped to record accurate minutes of meetings, ensuring that they are either present themselves or have requested that another board member act as their proxy. Minutes should be circulated to other board members following meetings to ensure they accurately reflect their recollections. The Secretary is also tasked with ensuring that the Jus Humanis calendar and Google Drive are organized and up to date.
TREASURER
The Treasurer identifies funding needs and opportunities, manages our account, applies for funding, organizes additional fundraising, and plans and maintains the yearly budget shared with the Board. The Treasurer also advises Board members on event funding options and payment and follow-up requirements. The Treasurer also manages Jus Humanis’ membership dues and saves this information among the Jus Humanis’ Board reference materials on Google Drive. The Treasurer may also manage promotional items associated with membership.
SOCIAL MEDIA & PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER
The Social Media & Public Relations Manager takes primary responsibility for coordinating the publicity for Jus Humanis events, projects, and services. The primary responsibilities of the Social Media & Public Relations Manager are to maintain the Jus Humanis page, Instagram account, Twitter (X) account and LinkedIn which are the primary means through which students hear of our events and activities. Other responsibilities may include designing/redesigning the logos or promotional materials. The Social Media & Public Relations Manager is also encouraged to think strategically and creatively about ways to publicize Jus Humanis’ various activities and to raise the profile of Jus Humanis and human rights at Lund University and beyond.
GENERAL BOARD MEMBERS - 2 positions
The General Board Members perform all functions delegated to them by the President and/or Vice-President. The General Board Members take a leading role in recruiting new members and representing Jus Humanis at events. such as student fairs and human rights-themed events put on by other organizations. They are encouraged to support the Social Media & Public Relations Manager in thinking strategically about ways to publicize Jus Humanis activities and to raise the profile of Jus Humanis and human rights at Lund University and beyond. The General Board Members are also urged to bring ideas for human rights themed events, such as lectures, film screenings, happy hours, and study trips to the rest of the board for consideration. The General Board Members, with the rest of the Board, take a leading role in preparing and planning Jus Humanis events throughout the year.

Jus Humanis Journal of International Human Rights invites students and professionals to send us your papers on “Corruption and Human Rights”.
The OHCHR has stated that corruption can have a devastating impact on the availability, quality and accessibility of human rights. Therefore, Jus Humanis considers it important to bring the academic debate towards the impact of corruption in human rights.
The articles will be published in the Seventh Issue of our Journal.
In order to qualify for the selection process of articles for the seventh issue of Jus Humanis Journal, send an abstract (200 words max.) of your article to: [email protected].
