The NRC is an interdisciplinary research and innovation center combining neuroscience in vivo and in vitro, nano- and microtechnology, and organic chemistry in the development of a new generation of neural interfaces for communication with the nervous system in basic research and clinical applications. The center is coordinated by Professor Jens Schouenborg (Neurophysiology, Faculty of Medicine) and involves researchers from the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering (LTH), Science, and Humanities.

Polydimethylsiloxane as a more biocompatible alternative to glass in optogenetics - Scientific Reports 04/10/2023

Congratulations to Michael Andersen and Jens Schouenborg. For publishing their work on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as a more biocompatible alternative to glass for optogenetics in Nature Scientific Reports.

Polydimethylsiloxane as a more biocompatible alternative to glass in optogenetics - Scientific Reports Optogenetics is highly useful to stimulate or inhibit defined neuronal populations and is often used together with electrophysiological recordings. Due to poor pe*******on of light in tissue, there is a need for biocompatible wave guides. Glass wave guides are relatively stiff and known to cause gli...

With the DBS (deep brain stimulation) technology used at Neuronano, we never miss the target.

While ensuring electrode coverage of the target area in the brain, optimal symptom relief is achieved by fine-tuning the stimulating pattern electrode by electrode. Stay tuned on our website to find out more about how we work for exact precision technology within DBS.

At Neuronano we work hard every day to find new and modern treatments for diseases such as Parkinson and other neurological conditions.
