Dear friends,
As you may have heard, the EU has now finally come to a closure in their work with their AI Act, as it was officially approved in the European Council on May 21st. The aim with the act, is to:
- ensure that AI-systems on the inner market are safe and respects human rights,
- facilitate innovation and investments in the AI sector, and
- constitute a uniform legal framework for AI.
With these big changes regarding AI and law, the AI & Law – MOOC of course also needs to go through a change. We are therefore currently working intensively on updating the course to ensure that it keeps a high level and contains the latest legislation.
Stay tuned for more updates and see you on Coursera!

Hello and welcome to this new Lund University MOOC – AI and Law!
We on the MOOC team have been working on this course together with associate professor Valentin Jeutner, senior lecturer Ana Nordberg and a number of other inspiring instructors during the last 1,5 years and we are all very pleased to announce that the course is ready to be launched.
The course will give you a basic understanding of how artificial intelligence impacts different areas of society and law. The lectures cover a wide array of topics, ranging from the basics of AI software and hardware and what legal issues these dimensions raise, to the use of CCTV in criminal investigations. Furthermore, the course examines a number of future challenges connected to artificial intelligence within various fields of law.
See you soon!
