POSTDOC in Gender Studies with a focus on sustainable cities
Linköping University, Sweden
The announced position is connected to research in the broad area of sustainable cities. It is part of the project “Sustainability means inclusivity: engaging citizens in early stage smart city development”. The project focuses on how cities can be designed in more inclusive and sustainable ways, and how a technology oriented smart cities-approach can be combined with a focus on citizens and their shifting needs and conditions. Work tasks include fieldwork in Swedish as well as collaborations with an international research group. The announced position includes research and teaching within the focused area, in collaboration with colleagues at the unit for gender studies, as well as dissemination of research. The successful applicant is expected to have good collaboration skills and be a creative and constructive colleague in an interdisciplinary research environment. The successful applicant is expected to collaborate actively with other researchers at the unit and contribute to the research environment.
In terms of formal educational background, we welcome applicants from gender studies, science- and technology studies, anthropology, sociology, urban and regional planning, or equivalent. We also welcome applicants with experience of interdisciplinary studies. Documented scientific excellence in the field of gender studies is a requirement. Documented scientific excellence in working with qualitative methods is a requirement. Documented scientific excellence in studies of sustainable cities is especially merited.
