What a fantastic week! It has been so much fun having the students back in school. A special Thank you to MIS families for all your cooperation with drop off and pick up. The benefits were immediate and had a huge impact; traffic congestion has reduced, cyclists are safer, teachers are getting to work on time. It is wonderful to be able to meet all families each morning with huge smiles.
To make sure everyone is safe crossing the road, please direct tour child to the 2 pedestrian crossings or cross the road with them.
Also a reminder that there is no stopping on Packhusgatan, the school cannot be responsible for any fines.

Morning everyone! For those driving their child(ren) to school, here is a repeat of the Managebac notice that went out yesterday. Student safety and welfare is all of our responsibility 😍😍😍 Pick-up and Drop-off
We would like to take this time to remind all that it is not permitted to use the staff carpark for student pick-up or drop-off. This is due to several reasons, not least of which is the safety of all our children and staff.

WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?
Hundreds of students and staff walk through and around the staff car park and Packhusgatan every morning and every afternoon. If families drive in, back out and drive out, this puts all of these people at risk.

In addition, the traffic build up that comes with parents turning in and parking or dropping off in the carpark often leads to staff not being able to park and leads to them being late to lessons.

WHAT CAN THE SCHOOL DO?
Unfortunately, this situation is not something we have been able to change as this stands with Gatukontoret.

At MIS, we must therefore put measures in place to make it as safe for our children and staff as possible.

Entry into to staff carpark for drop-off or pick-up will not be permitted. Safety representatives from the school will be monitoring this.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
In order for you to be able to drop your child off safely, on time, while ensuring the safety of all the MIS staff and students, we suggest that families leave plenty of time to ensure that stress and rushing is not a factor.

There are several parking options available in the surrounding area including P-huset Sjöstaden and the streets located on the otherside of Limhamnsvägen. Please use these to park and walk your child safely to school or let older students walk the short distance to school. Please be aware that it is not permitted to have your car stopeed/parked infront of the school on Packhusgatan.

Take public transport. Many of our staff and students travel from around Malmö and even towns and cities further away. This is a great solution especially for older students.

It was so great to have all the kids back in the building yesterday, they bring it to life! Today is a normal school day. PYP classes start at 8.00 sharp and end at 14:00. MYP classes are according to schedule. It is finer weather today so parents are reminded to please observe social distancing and to keep the school entrance clear.

find your Childs year group under "more" in the main menu and ask to join. All teacher info is there and you can meet the other families in your year group and can connect via this site when you need to.

It's only just been created and is still under construction so please give feedback to MISFA as to what is good and what needs to be worked on to make it a valuable site for us all asap 🙂
