Documentary filmmaker Astrid Askberger will talk about selected Korean short films from her filmmaker's perspective and participating filmmakers will meet online and share their perspectives and visions of independent filmmaking.

Güney Kore’nin Jeju Adasında yaşayan haenyo’lar, denizden öğrendiklerini yüzyıllardır gelecek kuşaklara aktarıyorlar.

Yalnızca kadın dalgıçlardan oluşan haenyo’lar bir yandan toplumlarındaki kadınların güçlenmesini sağlarken, öte yandan okyanusların sürdürülebilirliğine katkıda bulunuyorlar.

The world’s oceans are in crisis. Over 3 billion people depend on oceans for their livelihoods, but the climate change has thrown marine ecosystems out of balance, as have pollution and ocean acidification.

Haenyeo on Jeju Island in South Korea are a community of female divers who have created a harmonious relationship with the ocean over centuries.

Haenyeo pass down their deep knowledge of sea and the marine life to younger generations in their families and communities and contribute to the advancement of women’s status in their community and promote environmental sustainability with their fishing practices.
