Exactly one week ago we had 14 athletes, 4 coaches and 4 referees with great expectations arrive in Gothenburg for the wheelchair basketball developing camp and clinic for all 3 groups. The very expoerienced tutors Norbert Kucera, Benjamin Ryklin and Mat Foden were all prepared and ready to inspire, educate and support all these hungry people in their development of their wheelchair basketball skills. By Sunday after numerous different sessions both individually or in conjunction with the other groups we were able to conclude that this was an even more successful camp and clinic than last year! The session led by the most competent Norbert Kucera where players, coaches and referees were together was a huge success and very much appreciated by all, even coaches :-)
We ended the weekend by playing a tournament where we tried to put all theory into practice by having the coaches lead players in a round robin tournament and having the referees referee the games with feedback in between games from Norbert.
I want to extend a great thanks to all of you players, coaches and referees that were present and made this a memorable weekend in many ways!
Thank you also Norbert, Benny and for sharing your expertise with us, it was a pleasure to work with you, hope we can do it again soon!
Especial thanks to IWBF-Europe that supported this event by sending us very highly competent tuturs. Thanks also to Michael Malm and Westra Basket for organinsing all logistics to make this happen.
Enjoy the photos and for you who missed out, hope you will join us next time!

Meet Norbert Kucera, the Chairman of the Technical Commission of the IWBF. Did you know that Norbert himself will be responsible for the referee clinic here at the Nordic Development camp in Gothenburg 10-12th June? You do not want to miss out on getting up to date with all the rules and on the latest refereeing skills with one of the best instructors the IWBF has in this area!
Norbert became a wheelchair basketball referee since 1983. He got his international licens in 1987 and since then he officiated at several Continental and World championships, not to mention 3 Paralympics games. After his officiating career he started getting involved in IWBF-Europe Technical commission in different roles as he went on to doing the same but for the IWBF. He was in 1998 elected and has since been re-elected as the Chairman of the Technical Commission, a position he still has today. He is often a member of the technical tournament committees at Continental and World championships as well as at the Paralympic Games.
He is of course a very competent and experienced instructor as he has been instructing various referee courses and clinics for different NOWBs during the past 3 decades.
It is now our turn as we are honored to have Norbert come to Sweden and instruct all referees that want to learn from one of the best in his field!
