We conduct prominent research within areas such as logistics, innovation, entrepreneurship, industrial marketing and quality sciences. One alternative to today’s common battery types is a sodium-ion battery, where table salt and biomass from the forest industry make up the main raw materials. Now, researchers from Chalmers show that these have an equivalent climate impact as their lithium-ion counterparts – without the risk of running out of raw materials.
"The materials we use in the batteries of the future will be important in order to be able to switch to renewable energy and a fossil-free vehicle fleet," says Rickard Arvidsson.

Vacancy – Postdoc in Business network studies, business models for energy storage
We seek a postdoc candidate who wants to contribute to the transformation of the energy system by researching current and potential business models of electricity storage and balancing services in Sweden.
The study is carried out as a postdoc in collaboration with industrial partners: Volvo, Svenska Kraftnät and Södra, and is part of the Swedish Energy Storage and Balancing Centre (SESBC) at Chalmers.
