Robert is a Professor of Economic Geography at Kiel University in Germany and a visiting professor at Newcastle University in the UK. He is a widely-published scholar, renowned for his expertise in regional economic development, industrial restructuring, clusters, regional innovation systems, regional innovation policy, as well as the theories and paradigms of economic geography. In addition to his theoretical works, Robert has conducted extensive empirical research on clusters and regional economic development, primarily in Germany and East Asia.

CRA hosted an international workshop on the use of AI in university teaching. We discussed course design, the integration of AI into course materials, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies. The workshop is part of the project "The Nordic Initiative on AI in Business, Economics, and Social Sciences Teaching" (Nordic AI-BEST), including Aalborg University (Denmark), Gothenburg University (Sweden), The Norwegian School of Economics (Norway), and Tampere University (Finland). Many great presentations and debates at the Global RSA conference in Ljubljana last week. Together with the Nordic Division of the Regional Studies Association (NoRSA), CRA organized a track of special sessions on Regional Industrial Path Development and Restructuring. The track included 18 presentations covering topics such as the role of agency, green transitions, industrial renewal, and skills in regional path development.
