The fourth DEMSCORE Conference will take place in Gothenburg on June 8–9, 2026.
The DEMSCORE Conference brings together researchers and scholars from diverse fields within the social sciences to explore the potential of data-driven research in understanding contemporary political, social, and economic challenges.
The lunch-to-lunch event will feature panel discussions and workshops presenting research findings, methodological developments, version 7 of the DEMSCORE platform, and much more.

📢 New Thematic dataset: 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
The v6 update comes with a new thematic dataset on Laws and Liberties. Available for free at the Demscore website: https://www.demscore.se/data/thematic-datasets/thematic-datasets-laws-and-liberties/
The new thematic dataset provides researchers and policymakers with comprehensive, high-quality data on political and personal rights of citizens, the independence of the judiciary, and indicators on the impartial provision of justice.
Combining data from across the Demscore modules, the dataset includes variables related to the rule of law and civil liberties, for example access to justice, access to information, protection from governmental overreach, political influence on the judiciary, general rights, and equality before the law.

📢 Out Now! DEMSCORE v6
The Demscore version 6 update includes the new annual release v25.1, updated Basic datasets, monthly updates until August 2025, and a new thematic dataset on Laws and Liberties.
The Conflict Onsets datasets from Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) are back in Demscore with the v6 update. They contain variables recording onsets of new armed conflict and re-starts of previously active armed conflict after periods of inactivity.
The new v6 data from the Violence & Impacts Early-Warning System (VIEWS) includes predictions for the number of fatalities in impending conflict for September 2025 to August 2028, updated in August 2025.
The included updates of the Representative Democracy Data Archive (REPDEM) Basic dataset expands the available data to September 2025, incorporating new government terminations and formations. It also adds two new variables, respectively recording the cabinet seat share for each party in a cabinet, and the share of ministers for each party in a cabinet.
