This year’s Saif Ghobash Banipal Translation Prize Lecture is given by the well-known Palestinian novelist, short story writer and film director, Liana Badr. Yet there were far fewer contemporary prose works produced bilingually, and even fewer that remain in print. Please do add others in the comments.

Välkommen till höstterminen 2019!
Om du vill läsa en kurs vid sidan av språkkursen så är Modern Arabisk Litteratur AR1027 fortfarande öppen för sen anmälan. Kursen ges på onsdagar ojämna veckor mellan 10.00-12.00, du kan läsa på engelska eller arabiska och i vissa fall på svenska. Du kan lämna in uppgifter på svenska, engelska eller arabiska.
Kursen ger en bra insikt i den arabiska litteraturens utveckling och hur den under olika tider speglat de arabiska samhällenas möjligheter och utmaningar.
Welcome to fall term 2019!
If you want to study another course together with your language course Modern Arabic Literature AR1027 is still open for late admission. The lectures are on Wednesdays 10.00-12.00 on alternative weeks and you can read in Arabic or English and present your own work in either language.
The course gives an overview of the literary developments in the Arab countries and how the Arab societies and their opportunities and problems are mirrored in the literary works of the region.
