Skepp ohoj!

Just like that, the new school year is off to a wonderful start. We have enjoyed welcoming many new students to our school as well as all our former students back from summer vacation.

Monday was Meet & Greet Day in mentor classes, and this Friday is all about meeting the whole Year Team! Heads of Years have fun activities planned, so check SchoolSoft more for details.

As always, Ms de Linares has the library decorated in a new theme: nautical! ⚓️⛵️ 🌊 and the first library competition for this school year is already announced - so make sure you visit the library or read the posters up around our school!

Happy Midsommar and Happy Sommarlov from IES Falun! ☀️
Last week, we said good luck and ”see you later” to our graduating class of 2026 with our annual Leavers Brunch (Pommac and a summery buffé brunch with Year 9 students and teachers).
This week, we’ve wrapped up the year and made plans for the Fall Term with all staff. Now it’s time for summer holidays! See you all in August 😊💙

🌟 TODAY 🌟 May 29th is Football/Soccer Jersey Day! ⚽️ Wear your favourite team’s jersey today to show your support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. If you don’t have a football jersey, you can also participate by wearing a t-shirt or sweater with the same colour as your favourite team. 👕 ❤️

Another awesome project year with ! Over the past two days, our students in Year 7 have had the opportunity to test out a day as a blacksmith. This year, students made their own keychains. A big thank you to Carina, and looking forward to next year (hopefully with less rain!).

Here are the winners of the ”Design a Book Cover” library competition. 📕 Students were challenged to design their own book cover and title, either with existing book characters or newly imagined.

IES staff volunteered at Valborg celebrations last night. They were part of Falu kommuns Vändkorset initiative, where familiar and safe adults are attending events in town to provide support for Falun’s students. We saw many past and current students enjoying the evening with friends and family. Wishing you all a wonderful and sunny long weekend! 🔥🪵 🇸🇪
