The work of Heritage Infusion* originates from an investigation of my family's textile heritage. It researches the practice of traditional textile handicrafts, and how this knowledge has been passed down through generations; from great-grandmothers to daughters to grandchildren. The collection is an homage to the women who have influenced my path into the field of textiles and design.

Heritage Infusion* aims to explore the translation of traditional to modern, handmade to digital. Focusing merely on the visual properties of the traditional weaving pattern ‘monks belt’, this surface pattern print collection desires to treat the weaving patterns' pictorial construction as a source of inspiration for how a contemporary print version could be designed using screen printing and transfer printing techniques

‘‘A broken thread can be repaired, but there will be a knot in the middle’’. Persian proverb

Loops, dots, lines, ... So many signs allowing the technical writing of textiles. This project celebrates them as a graphic language in the context of a Jacquard woven upholstery and light design collection.

Final pieces from knitting in BA2 by exchangestudent

I created a textile collection where people can look at and dream away. And see different things in but also with the messages behind it that everyone can create an imagination of a surreal future world.

In the world we live in now I think it is very important to look not only one day Infront of us, but really look into the future and what can we do to improve our habits and actions so that we are able to still live on earth in the future. So what does your surreal future look like?

Final pieces from knitting in BA2 by exchangestudent

My knit collection is the visual explorations of environmental anxiety and the chaos in the mind that comes with it expressed througj various hole-making techniques with natural yarns. I wanted to give the space in between the knitting as much meaning as the knitted part holds and to create a collection that couls easily become a part of the ecosystem as food within the soil later.
