“Goodwood Revival 2015”
The “Goodwood Revival” is a three-day festival held every September at the famous Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England. It is one of the world’s most popular race meetings and the only UK event which recreates the golden era of motor sport from the 1940’s to 1960’s, when Goodwood hosted contemporary racing of all kinds, including Formula One, the famous Goodwood Nine Hours endurance race and the Tourist Trophy sports car race.
The last race meeting was held at Goodwood in 1966, when the speed of modern racing cars meant that safety improvements, would not only cost too much, but would also change the unique character of the circuit.
Following the success of the Festival of Speed hill climb event in 1993, which attracted 30,000 spectators, and, after convincing the Motor Sports Association and FIA inspectors why the circuit should remain unchanged for a “revival” meeting, the first “Goodwood Revival” was held in 1998 (50 years to the day since the first race was held there), and 68,000 visitors, many dressed in period outfits attended the event. Estimated numbers for the 2015 revival were between 140 – 150,000 visitors.
The photographs in the exhibition, taken by Neil Crighton, are intended to show the unique nature of the Goodwood circuit, and the unmistakable Revival atmosphere.

Den "Goodwood Revival" är en tredagars festival som hålls varje September på den berömda Goodwood Motor Circuit i West Sussex, England. Det är en av världens mest populära tävlings möten och den enda brittiska händelse som återskapar den gyllene eran av motorsport från 1940-talet till 1960-talet, när Goodwood värd samtida racing av alla slag, inklusive Formula One, den berömda Goodwood Nine Hours uthållighet ras och Tourist Trophy sportbil ras.
Den sista tävlingen hölls på Goodwood 1966, när hastigheten hos moderna tävlingsbilar innebar att säkerhetsförbättringar, skulle inte bara kostar för mycket, men skulle också ändra den unika karaktären av circuiten.
Efter framgångarna med Festival of Speed hill climb händelse i 1993, som lockade 30.000 åskådare, och efter övertyga Motorsport Association och FIA inspektörer varför kretsen bör förbli oförändrade under en "väckelse" möte, det första "Goodwood Revival" var som hölls i 1998 (50 år på dagen sedan den första tävlingen hölls där), och 68.000 besökare, många klädda i tidsenliga dräkter deltog i evenemanget. Uppskattade siffror för 2015 väckelsen var mellan 140 - 150.000 besökare.
