“Do I need to avoid Silica if I have implants?”
I get asked this a lot. Breast implants, dental implants, stents, plates, screws, etc.
And the concern usually comes from this statement:
“Silica ejects foreign bodies.”
That statement is true — but it’s being misunderstood.
Silica doesn’t go on a crusade removing anything that wasn’t born with you.
It doesn’t have opinions and it doesn’t “attack” materials.
Silica’s job is tissue organisation and clearance.
When Silica is indicated, the body is trying to finish something:
• pus that won’t drain
• a splinter that’s still lodged
• debris trapped after injury
• old inflammatory material that can’t clear
🌟Those things are foreign AND irritating. They interfere with tissue integrity, and they provoke inflammation or infection.
That’s when the “expelling” action shows up.
A medical implant is a completely different situation.
Implants are:
• inert
• designed to integrate, not irritate
• not provoking an inflammatory clearing response
• not treated by the body as debris
If an implant were causing irritation, rejection, or infection, you’d already have symptoms — and Silica wouldn’t be the cause of that problem. It would be part of the body responding to it.
There’s also something else that gets overlooked:
Your body already contains Silica. It always has.
The human body is built from all 12 cell salts.
Avoiding Silica supplements doesn’t make your body “Silica-free” — it just means you’re choosing not to support it if deficiency signs are present.
So avoiding Silica “just in case” doesn’t protect implants.
It simply leaves Silica-related symptoms unresolved if they exist.
We don’t prescribe minerals based on fear or fads.
We prescribe based on clear signs, tissue behaviour, and need.
If Silica signs are present, the body is asking for Silica.
No drama.
No myths.
Just physiology. 😊
