LECTURER /RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION

JOB Qualifications

The applicant for the job should have at least a master on gender studies. The Bachelor degree with honor in social sciences specialisation is preferable.

JOB DESCRIPTION

She or He
To undertake the following :
1/ Teach the women and gender studies at undergraduate level.
Participate in the curriculum development and update of the courses and all related functions of a lecturer of the courses

2/ Coordinator of the teaching of the two courses at the different schools.

3/ Act as research assistant at the social studies and development research unit of the institute.

4/ Participation in any capacity building programmes the institute offers.

5/ Participation in any civic engagement activities the institute or the university undertake.

6/ Participation as representative of the institute at any university committees as assigned by the director.

7/ Participate and help in updating and promoting the website & page and the newsletter of RIGDPR.
8/ Other business can include
Engagement in the SDG5 and other activities the institute will undertake and promotion of the institute link programme.

⭕️ The Regional Institute of Gender, Diversity, Peace and Rights (RIGDPR) is pleased to announce its Master’s Programs for the academic year 2021 - 2022.

📋✅ Application submissions are open from July 28 until August 12, 2021.

🔠✍🏾There will be two callings for the English Proficiency test; the first test will be on August 2, 2021, and the second will be on August 8, 2021.

💻Two courses will be distance learning.
👩🏾‍💻Classes will start on August 14, 2021.

🟣 The program is for 18 months and for females only.

🟣 English is the language of instruction.

⭕️The Regional Institute of Gender, Diversity, Peace and Rights (RIGDPR) is pleased to announce the opening for registration for its foundation (certified) course "Gender and Feminism: Concepts and Theories".

Professors teaching the course are:

🟣 Prof. Balghis Badri, Ahfad University for Women, Sudan.

🟣 Prof. Sheila Meintjes, Wits University, South Africa.

🟣 Prof. Fatima Sadiqi, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Morocco.

🟣 Dr. Mai Ezzeldeen, Ahfad University for Women, Sudan

🟣 Dr. Sylvia Pritsch, Carl von Ossietzky Universität, Germany.

🖊Instruction will be in English.

👨🏽‍💻👩🏾‍💻The course is available for both men and women.

Gadra Team introduced the theme of Women in Peace, which we see as a priority in the country’s current situation. We showcased the history of Sudanese women’s participation in peace-building processes in the past, while monitoring the efforts taking place in the present, and envisioning what peace collectively means in the future.

In relation to that, we took a look at Women’s Participation in Politics, which was discussed through women’s right in being represented and taking part in the Transitional Legislative Council. We emphasized the importance of their necessary and influential role in this field and as part of society that cannot be ignored or overlooked.

In addition to that, we dedicated much of our project to examining gender-based violence in Sudan, and all the types of violations women are facing, and their short and long-term impact in the private and public sphere.

These ideas were mostly demonstrated visually through live art installations, posters, art pieces and photographs.

We were also honored that the event was attended by a group of active Sudanese women, international women politicians and our very own students, staff and faculty.

Hello everyone🖐🏽,

You probably have been wondering what took us so long to post again🤷🏼‍♀️!
Well, as our beloved Sudan was going through the process of construction, so were we 😁 .... We were a genuine part of the transformation that took place 🇸🇩, beside that we have been improving our existing courses and developing new ones 😎.

Today, the gender, development and peace studies MSc. program students, batch 22 💙, who had lived the Sudanese revolution since it's launch in December, which also was supposed to be the start of their second semester, this batch presented an extraordinary gallery at the end of "gender and peace in media" course as part of their course assessment, in collaboration with batch 23 💙.
The gallery celebrated the difference in the Sudanese culture, and embraced the concept of "Empowered Women Empower Women" and "A woman is more than just a Body".

More stories about this batch and their struggle through their journey will be told later by the students themselves.
