I’ve been thinking about what actors actually type into Google when they’re looking for work.

Things like flexible work, creative income, something that still uses their skills.

That’s where DramEd came from for me.
I didn’t stop being an actor. I just needed my work to be sustainable, meaningful, and support my lifestyle needs. Bringing drama into early years as a business gave me that. It supports children’s learning, and it gives performers a way to build steady work without abandoning their craft.

If you’re an actor reading this and quietly asking “how do I make this work long term?”, you’re not alone.

Curiosity is the things that makes children lean in, look closer, and ask the questions some of us stopped asking years ago. Drama feeds curiosity. It invites them to wonder, to explore, to imagine wildly without being told to “settle down.” Or "do it like this".

When we protect their curiosity, we protect their power to learn on their own terms.

I’ve been there.
And here’s the truth nobody told us - your performing arts skills aren’t the problem. The industry’s instability is.

Boldness doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. Children grow it by stepping into stories, taking risks, and finding their voice. That’s why drama matters. It gives them the courage to show up as themselves - loudly, proudly, and without apology.

Life really does require boldness, and we’re here to help them build it.
