It was an absolute honour to welcome the most talented and passionate women in industry to our Redbridge empowering Mothers into Work workshop. We welcomed 43 local women from Redbridge to join us in finding out about restarting their careers, gaining work experience and CV skills and how to empower their careers in a modern IT driven workplace whilst balancing childcare. Thank you hugely to our expert guest speakers; Tatiana Smith who spoke with experience and expertise sharing her insights into project management. Thank you also to Medina Williamson who led our session on careers in hospitality, and also to Jakir Hussain DWP Redbridge partnership manager who led on the latest free childcare opportunities for mothers returning to work. Well done to Maximus Employment and Skills and Sean Talbot , Huge thanks especially to Liz Hammond and your team for all your support in making this happen. We are looking forward to progressing this project to encourage entrepreneurship and employability for women in Redbridge working with our local authority partners to support women into work: Work Redbridge and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

Local group wins major London Construction Award for helping mums back into work
We did it! Community group Mothers Into Work just scooped the Women in Construction Initiative of the Year 2025 at the London Construction Awards winning against national giant competitors such GSK and Mace! 🎉 Their programme is literally changing lives — helping mums build confidence, gain hands-on experience and find real jobs in the green skills sector. The judges said they’re driving “meaningful progress for gender diversity and inclusion” across the UK’s construction industry. Such a huge win for women, families and the future of work in construction.
