Throwback to .clyde.s first ever show season 👏

Dean took 3rd place at ‘The Natural Physique Trophy’ with NPC Benelux after dropping 15kg from left to right.

One thing I think is important to highlight from this prep: real life doesn’t stop during a bodybuilding phase. Dean had a once in a lifetime trip to Korea planned at the start of prep, and instead of panicking or pretending prep has to be “perfect”, we worked through the pros/cons, adjusted where needed, and made it fit the bigger picture.

As the diet progressed, it became clear we were slightly behind schedule something that’s very common with first-time competitors as you uncover what someone’s true stage weight actually is.

But to Dean’s credit, he never wavered. No drama, no excuses, just consistent ex*****on and trust in the process.

He ended up bringing a physique he could be proud of and absolutely belonged on stage. And that was just show one of his great season!

This is exactly what good coaching should do:
👉Create a plan around real life
👉Make adjustments objectively when needed
👉Keep the goal moving forward without emotional decision making

If you’re thinking about competing for the first time, or want evidence based coaching for bodybuilding (doesn’t have to be to stage) without the extremes our coaching applications are open, check the link in my bio

“Strong opinions, weakly held”

- Paul Saffo

You commit, but you’re always open to different viewpoints or ways to improve your process.

And by committing, you actually learn from what you’re doing, no one toe in, the whole damn foot.

Keep what worked, drop what didn’t.

Repeat.

Too many just go through the motions, or try a bit of something but then swap it for something else, never truly committing. That’s f*cking around & will lead nowhere.

Commit yourself to something.

…& just missing out on his pro card in the overall.

Couldn’t have gone much better & as weird as it sounds, not winning the pro card now I think is a blessing in disguise.

So damn proud of you William, executed everything as asked, always honest & never complained.

In his own words “Felt super composed and confident. Felt really natural tbh”

Prepared he was & that paid.

Onto the next, watch this space.

2nd place in Open Bodybuilding for .at.night

The past few weeks have been turbulent for Nick. People often say there’s never a perfect time for prep (that’s true) but there are definitely better and worse times.

During this prep, life made it difficult for bodybuilding to remain the priority it needs to be to truly excel. Sometimes you can’t plan for that, you just have to adapt and keep moving forward.

Credit to Nick for never giving up, always being transparent with me, and still bringing a quality look to the stage despite everything going on behind the scenes.

Nick has a huge amount of potential, and I’m excited to see what he can do the next time he steps on stage.
