Founded in 1924 as Kitchener School of Medicine, University of Khartoum, Faculty of Medicine is one of the oldest medical schools in the Arab world.

As an educational institution, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Khartoum is aware of its role as the oldest school of medicine in the Sudan; which emphasizes its position as an institutional model for newer & developing schools. Comprehensive Scientific Conference - Faculty of Medicine

This is the outcome of the comprehensive scientific conference between the University of Khartoum, Al-Ahfad University and the Imperial College of London. This was done under the full patronage and support of Hajjar Charity Foundation. The conference concluded to support joint research in the areas of infectious diseases such as water related and water borne diseases eg malaria, kalazar, schistosomiasis and hepatitis B & C as well as non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease and cancer. Support of research will also include maternal and paediatric health and diseases and nutrition.
