The first step would entail the selection of those who are interested in studying music and providing them, with in an appropriate academic environment, with the requisite as well as practical knowledge with regard to playing the instrument of their choice in accordance with a well -structured syllabus taught by experienced and highly qualified music teachers. The Music Institute is of the view that the teaching of music should be accompanied by appropriate academic inputs which would make it possible for the learner to know something about the cultural environments where the different varieties of music (e.g.Classical music ,Jazz, etc) took root.This would help the learner not only to understand the importance of the role that music plays in the life of communities all over the world but to take his/her musical studies seriously and to practice the art of music in an appropriate manner. One way to achieve this is by making it possible for the learner to watch both videos and recordings of important musical events which feature the work of international musicians and afterwards to discuss the musical work in question in order to gauge the learners understanding of the work and to fill in any gaps in his knowledge of the musical piece under discussion. The work at the Institute will include training sessions which aim at teaching rules of the music note and the proper way to read a music sheet to play accordingly. The Institute welcomes all age groups provided those who apply to join it are truly interested in music and keen to acquire musical skills. The focus in the first stage in on beginners or learners who have no knowledge of music but possess an inborn aptitude to learn it. The duration of the course is 3 months during which the learner acquires a basic knowledge of the music note and some practice in playing the instrument of his/her choice. This is followed by a 3 months period (the middle stage)which is the appropriate stage for those with some knowledge of music but who did not have the opportunity to continue their studies, hence the attempt to help them to fill in the gaps in their musical knowledge and to improve their skills. The last stage is a 3months period of advanced musical study which makes it possible for the learner to understand advanced concepts in music like harmony and the different forms of musical composition.
