من أهم محطاتي المهنية كانت فترة عملي بمستشفى علياء التخصصي التابع للقوات المسلحة السودانية، حيث تشرفت باختياري من قبل سعادة الفريق طبيب/ زكريا إبراهيم، مدير المستشفى وقتها وقائد الخدمات الطبية بالقوات المسلحة حاليًا، لرئاسة قسم العلاج الطبيعي بهذا الصرح الكبير.

امتدت فترة عملي بالمستشفى من مايو 2018 وحتى 15 أبريل 2023 عند اندلاع الحرب، وخلال تلك الفترة كان قسم العلاج الطبيعي بمستشفى علياء من أكبر الأقسام على مستوى البلاد من حيث عدد الاختصاصيين والتجهيزات. ولم تكن خدماته فقط لمنسوبي القوات المسلحة، وإنما كانت لجميع المواطنين، حيث شملت المرضى المنومين، والعيادات الخارجية، والعنايات الوسيطة والمكثفة، إلى جانب الإسهام في تأهيل مرضى عمليات القلب، والعناية المكثفة لحديثي الولادة، وغيرها من الحالات المعقدة.

كما سعدنا بالعمل جنبًا إلى جنب مع نخبة متميزة من الاستشاريين والاختصاصيين في مختلف التخصصات، ومع عدد من الأطباء الزائرين من عدة دول، حيث كان لقسمنا دور أساسي في وضع وتنفيذ خطط التأهيل للحالات الجراحية المختلفة. وأعتز كذلك بأننا كنا من أوائل الأقسام التي بادرت بالعمل على بروتوكولات تأهيل مرضى كوفيد-19 خلال ذروة الجائحة، ضمن الصفوف الأمامية مع بقية التخصصات.

وأستطيع القول بكل فخر إن ما تحقق من تميز وسمعة مهنية للقسم خلال تلك الفترة كان ثمرة إدارة داعمة، وفريق عمل عالي الكفاءة والانضباط والاحترافية، تشرفت بالعمل معه في واحدة من أكثر التجارب تأثيرًا وثراءً في مسيرتي المهنية.

One of the most important stages of my professional journey was my time at Alia Specialty Hospital of the Sudanese Armed Forces, where I was honored to be appointed by His Excellency Lt. Gen. Dr. Zakaria Ibrahim, the hospital director at the time and currently the Commander of Military Medical Services, to lead the Physiotherapy Department at this major institution.

My period of service at the hospital extended from May 2018 until 15 April 2023, when the war began. During that time, the Physiotherapy Department at Alia Hospital was among the largest in the country in terms of both staffing and equipment. Its services were not limited to members of the armed forces, but were extended to all citizens, covering inpatients, outpatient services, intermediate and intensive care units, as well as rehabilitation support for cardiac surgery patients, neonatal intensive care cases, and many other complex conditions.

We also had the privilege of working closely with an outstanding group of consultants and specialists across multiple disciplines, in addition to visiting physicians from several countries, with our department playing a central role in planning and delivering rehabilitation for a wide range of surgical cases. I also take pride in the fact that we were among the earliest departments to implement rehabilitation protocols for COVID-19 patients at the height of the pandemic, serving on the front line alongside other specialties.

I can say with great pride that the department’s distinguished reputation and achievements during that time were the result of strong and supportive leadership, together with a highly professional, disciplined, and dedicated team whom I was honored to work with in one of the most impactful and enriching chapters of my professional career.

سعدت بتقديم دورة الممارس المعتمد في الإبر الجافة في سلطنة عُمان، والتي اختتمت قبل يومين، تحت مظلة الأكاديمية الدولية للعلاج الطبيعي، وبتنظيم من مركز المستقبل للعمود الفقري والجمعية العُمانية للعلاج الفيزيائي.

وقد تميزت هذه الدورة بمشاركة 33 أخصائيًا من 8 جنسيات مختلفة، يمثلون عددًا كبيرًا من المرافق الصحية العسكرية، ومؤسسات وزارة الصحة، إلى جانب المستشفيات والعيادات الخاصة، وهو ما أضفى على البرنامج قيمة مهنية وعلمية كبيرة.

وكان لهذه الدورة طابع مميز بصورة خاصة، حيث تشرفت بأن يكون ضمن المشاركين عدد مقدر من الزملاء ذوي الخبرات الممتدة، والتي تقارب في بعض الحالات 20 عامًا، الأمر الذي أثرى النقاشات العلمية، وعمّق تبادل الخبرات حول العديد من الحالات والتطبيقات العملية.

أتقدم بجزيل الشكر والتقدير للجهات المنظمة، ولكافة المشاركين، على ما لمسناه من تفاعل مهني راقٍ واهتمام علمي مميز، وأتطلع دومًا إلى تقديم كل ما يمكن أن يسهم في تطوير الممارسة المهنية والارتقاء بمستوى التدريب المستمر.

I was pleased to deliver the Certified Dry Needling Practitioner Program in the Sultanate of Oman, which concluded two days ago, under the umbrella of the International Physical Therapy Academy, and organized by Future Spine Center in collaboration with the Oman Physical Therapy Association.

This program was distinguished by the participation of 33 physiotherapists from 8 different nationalities, representing a wide range of military healthcare facilities, Ministry of Health institutions, as well as private hospitals and clinics, which added significant professional and academic value to the course.

What made this program particularly special was the presence of a considerable number of highly experienced participants, with some bringing nearly 20 years of professional experience. This greatly enriched the scientific discussions and deepened the exchange of expertise around various clinical cases and practical applications.

My sincere thanks and appreciation go to the organizers and to all participants for their outstanding professional engagement and valuable scientific contribution. I always look forward to offering everything possible to support professional development and advance the quality of continuous training.

سعدت بترؤس اجتماع اللجنة العليا للتعليم والتطوير المهني والاعتماد بالمجلس القومي للمهن الطبية والصحية خلال الشهر المنصرم، وهو اجتماع مهم شهد مناقشة وإجازة عدد من المرتكزات الأساسية الداعمة لتطوير مسار الاعتماد والتطوير المهني على مستوى البلاد.

وقد شملت مخرجات الاجتماع إجازة لائحة السلوك المهني والاستقلالية الخاصة بأعضاء اللجنة والخبراء والمقيمين المشاركين في عمليات الاعتماد، إلى جانب إجازة الدليل الوطني لإجراءات الاعتماد المؤسسي والبرامجي لكليات وبرامج المهن الطبية والصحية، والذي يمثل خطوة محورية نحو تطوير أعمال الاعتماد والارتقاء بها إلى مستوى أكثر مواكبة وتنظيمًا، استنادًا إلى الجهود التراكمية السابقة في هذا المجال.

كما تمت إجازة نموذج معياري لكتيب الامتياز لكافة التخصصات المنضوية تحت المجلس، تمهيدًا لقيام المجالس المتخصصة بإعداد ومراجعة كتيبات الامتياز وفق إطار موحد ومعتمد، بما يعزز الجودة والاتساق المؤسسي.

ونسأل الله التوفيق في استكمال بقية حلقات الاعتماد والإجازة وفق القوانين واللوائح والنظم المعمول بها بالمجلس.

I was pleased to chair the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Education, Professional Development, and Accreditation at the National Council for Medical and Health Professions during the past month. It was an important meeting in which a number of key foundations supporting the advancement of accreditation and professional development pathways at the national level were discussed and approved.

The outcomes of the meeting included the approval of the Code of Professional Conduct and Independence for committee members, experts, and assessors involved in accreditation processes, in addition to the approval of the National Guideline for Institutional and Programmatic Accreditation Procedures for Colleges and Programs of Medical and Health Professions, which represents a pivotal step toward advancing accreditation work to a more up-to-date and structured level, building on previous cumulative efforts in this field.

The meeting also approved a standardized internship handbook template for all specialties under the Council, paving the way for the specialized councils to develop and revise their internship handbooks according to a unified and approved framework, thereby strengthening quality and institutional consistency.

We pray for success in completing the remaining stages of accreditation and approval in accordance with the laws, regulations, and governing frameworks of the Council.

سعدت بتقديم برنامجي شهادة الممارس المعتمد في الإبر الجافة (Basic & Advanced Levels) والممارس الخبير في الإبر الجافة (Expert Dry Needling Practitioner Program) من خلال الأكاديمية الدولية للعلاج الطبيعي (IPTA) في إندونيسيا خلال الفترة من 9 إلى 15 مايو 2026.

وقد أقيم برنامج الممارس الخبير للمرة الثانية في إندونيسيا، إلا أن هذه النسخة كانت الأولى بعد التحديث الشامل للبرنامج، والذي تضمن مفاهيم متقدمة في التفكير السريري، وإدارة الحالات المعقدة، وتطبيقات عملية أكثر تطوراً وفق أحدث المعايير الدولية.

أشكر IPTA Indonesia وجميع الجهات المتعاونة والمشاركين على مساهمتهم في نجاح هذه البرامج، وأتطلع إلى مواصلة دعم التطوير المهني والتميز السريري في مجال العلاج الطبيعي والإبر الجافة.

I was delighted to deliver the Certified Dry Needling Practitioner Program (Basic & Advanced Levels) and the Expert Dry Needling Practitioner Program through the International Physical Therapy Academy (IPTA) in Indonesia from 9–15 May 2026.

The Expert Program was delivered in Indonesia for the second time; however, this edition marked the first delivery following the program’s comprehensive update, incorporating advanced clinical reasoning concepts, complex case management, and enhanced practical applications aligned with the latest international standards.

My sincere appreciation goes to IPTA Indonesia, all collaborating partners, and the participants for their contribution to the success of these programs. I look forward to continuing to support professional development and clinical excellence in physiotherapy and Dry Needling practice.

With His Excellency / Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, on the sidelines of my participation in the Sports Science Forum in the Sultanate of Oman.

A participation I truly value, as I was honored to be one of the speakers at the forum, where I presented a paper on the rehabilitation protocol following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

سعدت بتقديم محاضرة ضيف دولي بجامعة محمدية مالانج – إندونيسيا بعنوان:
“العلاج الطبيعي العضلي الهيكلي: الربط بين التقنيات المبتكرة والمعايير العالمية في الممارسة الحديثة”
وذلك ضمن برامج الأكاديمية الدولية للعلاج الطبيعي IPTA وبالتعاون مع جامعة النيلين.

كما تشرفت بلقاء واستقبال نائب مدير الجامعة، حيث ناقشنا عدداً من الأفكار وفتح آفاق للتعاون الأكاديمي والمهني المستقبلي بين المؤسسات بما يسهم في تطوير التعليم والممارسة المهنية في مجال العلاج الطبيعي.

وقد أسعدني الحضور الكبير والتفاعل المميز من الطلاب والمشاركين.

أتقدم بخالص الشكر والتقدير لجامعة محمدية مالانج على كرم الاستقبال والتنظيم المتميز، وسعادتي دائماً كبيرة بوجودي بين زملائي في إندونيسيا.

I was honored to deliver an International Guest Lecture at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia, titled:
“Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy: Bridging Innovative Techniques & Global Standards in Modern Practice”
under the International Physical Therapy Academy (IPTA) programs and in collaboration with Al Neelain University.

I was also privileged to meet and be welcomed by the Vice Rector of the university, where we discussed future opportunities for academic and professional collaboration between our institutions to further support the advancement of physiotherapy education and practice.

It was truly rewarding to witness the remarkable attendance and engagement from students and participants.

My sincere appreciation and gratitude to Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang for the warm hospitality and excellent organization. It is always a pleasure and privilege to be among my colleagues in Indonesia .

I was pleased and honored to once again deliver the Certified Dry Needling Practitioner Course under the umbrella of the International Physical Therapy Academy (IPTA) and with the approval of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, for two distinguished cohorts comprising more than 65 specialists in Bali and Jakarta in February 2026.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Indonesia office for their excellent organization and high professional standards, and I am always delighted to be among my colleagues in Indonesia in such an inspiring academic and professional environment.

تشرفت باختياري رئيسًا للجنة العليا للتعليم والتطوير المهني والاعتماد بالمجلس القومي للمهن الطبية والصحية على مستوى البلاد، وهي لجنة تضم نخبة من الخبراء والمختصين.

وستعمل اللجنة على تطوير وتحديث سياسات الاعتماد للمؤسسات التعليمية والتدريبية للكوادر الصحية، ومتابعة تنفيذها بما يعزز جودة التعليم والتدريب. كما ستسهم في دعم سياسات التطوير المهني المستمر ورفع كفاءة الكوادر الصحية في مختلف التخصصات المنضوية تحت المجلس.

وننطلق في ذلك مستندين إلى ما تم إنجازه سابقًا من جهودٍ قيمة، سعيًا للبناء عليها وتعزيز أثرها في المرحلة المقبلة. كما سنحرص على الاستفادة من خبرات أساتذتنا وخبرائنا في مختلف المهام ذات الصلة، بما يدعم بناء سياسات رصينة ومخرجات تخدم القطاع الصحي.

نسأل الله التوفيق والسداد في أداء هذه الأمانة، وأن يكون هذا التكليف إسهامًا حقيقيًا في تطوير القطاع الصحي في السودان وخدمة الوطن وأهله.

I am deeply honored to have been appointed Chair of the Supreme Committee for Education, Professional Development, and Accreditation at the National Council for Medical and Health Professions nationwide. The Committee includes a distinguished group of experts and specialists.

The Committee will work on developing and updating accreditation policies for educational and training institutions serving health professionals, while overseeing their implementation to strengthen the quality of education and training. It will also support continuing professional development policies aimed at enhancing the competencies of health professionals across all specialties under the Council.

In this work, we build on the valuable efforts and achievements accomplished previously, with the aim of strengthening and expanding their impact in the next phase. We will also draw on the expertise of our professors and experts in the various related tasks to support sound policies and meaningful outcomes that serve the health sector.

I pray for Allah’s guidance and success in fulfilling this responsibility, and that this appointment will contribute meaningfully to the development of Sudan’s health sector and the service of our nation and its people.
