Our Primary Six pupils took an exciting step forward today during a vital transition meeting with the Deputy Headteacher for pastoral care, Sir Bernard Jolicoeur from Ile Perseverance Secondary School.

Moving on to Secondary school is a massive milestone. Preparing our pupils for this next phase ensures they feel confident, supported, and ready to thrive. Thanks to this valuable session, our P6 students are now fully aware of the school expectations and what lies ahead in their upcoming journey.

We are incredibly proud of how maturely they engaged today!@ 🌟

Victory on the chess board! ♟️🏆

Our pupils participated in the 2nd Edition of the International Chess Day Inter-Schools tournament on Monday 20th July! Huge congratulations to the La Retraite chess team for securing an outstanding 3rd position out of 13 competing schools!

This incredible achievement is a direct result of their classical moves, reflective thinking, deep analysis, and pure mental resilience on the board. We are immensely proud of our players for their dedication and focus. Keep up the brilliant work, team! 🏅👏👏

💧 Water is life, and our Primary One learners just took a big step toward protecting it!

On Friday 17th, our P1 classes went on an exciting educational visit to the
La Gogue Dam to see firsthand where our community's water comes from.

♟️ Two clubs, one goal — mastering the game!

La Retraite Chess Club joined Sunset Knight Chess Club today for a power-packed session on the Italian & French openings, middlegame strategy, and endgame patterns — led by the brilliant Dr Léon and Sir Mwela. 🧠👑

Great minds, sharp moves, and a lot of five-moves-ahead thinking! Onward to more strategy sessions. ✨

Our School Greening Competition officially launched this May , and we are ready to "turn trash into treasure!" ✨

Calling our community! We need your help to make this a success. We are looking for donations of soil, manure and recycled items. Any extra hands or gardening tips are also highly welcomed! 🤝🌿

🥬 Greening Our School Project – First Harvest! 🌱

Last Friday marked our first lettuce harvest! Our pupils worked hard watering the plants morning and night, with Mr. Curtis (Security) lending a helping hand watering over the weekends.

The harvest was sold to our school community, and the funds raised will go towards replenishing new plants in our greenhouse — we look forward to our next harvest! 💚
