The choice of name is based my simple belief that we can respect and support each other to overcome barriers and hurdles in our lives and learning....teachers and students alike! I love the concept of supporting each other. I learn new things everyday. Through sharing with others we learn.

First let me say I hope you enjoy
what you find here and will comment and discuss as you wish. I would like to introduce myself I work as an international early years teacher. Although I am originally from the UK I have never taught there. I came to teaching around 13 years ago after a career as an IT consultant failed to excite me. I have just taken up a position at a very unique school in a unique environment in Saudi Arabia. Previously I have taught in Cairo, Dubai and Bahrain. I have also been involved in educating children in non formal settings in a number of other countries and worked in many more as an IT consultant. I have a particular interest in working with children with language and development challenges. I also enjoy applying what is being discovered about child development and the science of learning to my teaching practice. My personal philosophy is that people should be given the chance to develop into purposeful and productive adults with a positive outlook on life. This influences all that I do in my classroom. I aim to develop confident independent learners with a respect for others and an understanding that differences are to be celebrated rather than tolerated. My teaching philosophy recognizes that children are natural inquirers and that they experiment and explore to make sense of the world around them. My role is to partner with them to facilitate this and provide opportunities for my students to develop their innate curiosity and intrinsic desire to learn. My classroom goal is to create an inviting, creative and caring environment in which to do this. Through a creative, play-based approach to early learning, students are offered activities appropriate to their individual level of development. I wish to provide opportunities for children to work collaboratively and to develop mutual respect in a multilingual and multicultural environment. I encourage parents to join in the children’s learning journey and enjoy the chance to partner in their own child's learning experiences. Please contribute actively to this FB page. I greatly enjoy sharing and discussing anything to do with education.
