Thirty GEMS students, two GEMS teachers and a family from Our Own English High School, Dubai were honoured with the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance ceremony. This is the largest number of GEMS students ever to receive the award, which recognizes academic achievement, talent, skills and leadership ability across a variety of disciplines.
The students recognized were from GEMS Our Own English High School; Dubai, Our Own English High School, Sharjah; The Millennium School, Dubai; Our Own English High School, Abu Dhabi; and GEMS Wi******er School, Abu Dhabi. The teachers recognized were from GEMS Wellington Academy – Silicon Oasis and The Wi******er School, Dubai.
The Muzammil family from Our Own English High School, Dubai won the Sheikh Hamdan Distinguished Family award, after all three daughters of the family were recognized with the award for Academic Excellence.
In the same week, four GEMS Students from Our Own English High School, Dubai and Our Own English High School, Abu Dhabi received the Sharjah Educational Award for Outstanding Performance.
Margaret Atack, Group Senior Director – Education at GEMS Education congratulated the student and staff for these recognitions. “We are very proud that such a large number of GEMS students and teachers have received these awards this year.
