مع التوقعات العالمية بتضاعف أعداد كبار السن، يُطرح سؤال مُلحّ: من سيتولى مسؤولية تقديم الرعاية الصحية لهذه الفئة في ظل تراجع اهتمام الممارسين الصحيين الشباب بمجال رعاية المسنين؟

في الوقت الذي يتزايد فيه عدد كبار السن الذين يعانون من حالات صحية معقدة تتطلب رعاية طويلة الأجل، فإنه من المقلق أن كثيرًا من العاملين الشباب في القطاع الصحي لا يرون مجال رعاية كبار السن مسارًا مهنيًا جذابًا. تعود أسباب هذا العزوف بشكل رئيسي إلى:

1. محدودية الخبرة السريرية مع المرضى من كبار السن، وخصوصًا الحالات الأكثر تعقيدًا.
2. انتشار الصور النمطية السلبية حول الشيخوخة.
3. الاعتقاد السائد بأن ظروف العمل في مجال رعاية المسنين غير ملائمة، وفرص التطور المهني والترقي محدودة للغاية.

تُعمق هذه العوامل مجتمعة تحديات توظيف واستبقاء الكوادر المؤهلة في قطاع الرعاية طويلة الأجل، ما يؤكد خطورة هذه الأزمة وتأثيراتها المستقبلية على جودة الرعاية المقدمة لكبار السن.

لمواجهة هذه التحديات، من الضروري تطوير برامج مهنية مستمرة (CPD) ترتكز على عشر كفاءات أساسية:

1. فهم الشيخوخة والأمراض المزمنة المرتبطة بها.
2. تقديم رعاية إنسانية تركز على المريض.
3. استيعاب التوجهات العامة للصحة السكانية.
4. تطوير مهارات البحث العلمي والممارسات القائمة على الأدلة.
5. ضمان الجودة العالية والسلامة في تقديم الرعاية.
6. بناء فهم واضح لأنظمة الرعاية الصحية وإدارتها.
7. تدريب العاملين الشباب على استخدام التقنيات الصحية الناشئة، مثل التطبيب عن بعد (telemedicine) ومتابعة المرضى من خلال الأدوات الرقمية.
8. تعزيز مهارات المعلوماتية الصحية.
9. الالتزام بقيم الاحترافية وأخلاقيات العمل.
10. توفير فرص مستمرة للتطوير الشخصي والمهني والقيادي.

ستساهم هذه الخطوات بشكل كبير في تحسين جودة الرعاية الصحية، وزيادة رضا العاملين، وتعزيز فرص استبقائهم في القطاع.

إن برامج التطوير المهني المستمر (CPD) ليست مجرد وسيلة لنقل المعرفة والخبرات فحسب، بل تلعب دورًا محوريًا في تحقيق أهداف الرعاية الصحية من خلال تعزيز الكفاءات الأساسية بشكل منهجي ومدروس في المجالات الرئيسية. ومن خلال الاستثمار في هذه البرامج وربطها بشكل واضح بمسارات التقدم الوظيفي، يمكن لقطاع الرعاية طويلة الأجل بناء قوة عاملة عالية الكفاءة، متحمسة ومستدامة، وقادرة على تلبية الاحتياجات المتزايدة لكبار السن بكفاءة وجودة عالية.
