General information

Contributing effectively in youth-related research, giving high-level professional scientific and research consultancy, and striving to promote the level of the youth so that they can participate actively in the various fields of development .
The youth is the category most affected by social changes, which makes them target to developmental plans since they are the most important human force that marks the starting point for several developmental and social programs. At this sensitive 15-30 age group, the youth cannot digest well the rapid changes they experience, which may reflect upon their conduct and behavior. The youth category represents the most important age group in the community owing to increasing birth rate, improved health conditions, and cultural awareness witnessed by the Kingdom in the last few years.

Owing to the fact that the youth is the most influential work force on job opportunities and more eager than the other social categories to innovate and assimilate changes, they are more capable of interacting and responding to the outcomes of education and technology. This is amenable to distinctive characteristics of the youth, most important of which are their continuous desire to look for novelty and adopt ideas to emphasize that they have reached an independent stage of their age.

In light of this, there appeared the importance for the educational, cultural, and social institutions of the community to set up plans for a better future for the youth, establish a specialized center to study their situations, observe and analyze scientifically the study of their current and futuristic issues and problems, and prepare suitable procedural recommendations that would benefit them and their community.

This direction has been crowned by the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Council of Ministers Premier and President of the Council of Higher Education, May Allah Preserve Him, through the kind directive number 1086/MB dated 26/1/1428H on the Council of Higher Education’s decision number 9/44/1427 dated 21/10/1427, which established the National Center for Youth Research.
