Why is Surah al-Mumtahanah called that?

Surah al-Mumtahanah is named after the woman it was revealed about, Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ait, the wife of Abd al-Rahman ibn Auf. Allah Almighty said:

"So test them. Allah is most knowing of their faith." (Surah al-Mumtahanah)

لماذا سُميت سورة الممتحنة بهذا الإسم؟
سُميت سورة الممتحَنة - بفتح الحاء - بهذا الإسم إضافة إلى المرأة التي نزلت فيها وهي أم كلثوم بنت عقبة بن أبي معيط -وهي امرأة عبدالرحمن بن عوف.
قال الله تعالى {فامتحنوهن الله أعلم بإيمانهن}

Why was the Quran revealed in Arabic?

Since the Quran is for all of humanity, why did God reveal it in Arabic and not in another language?

1- The Quran is a heavenly book that should be revealed in the language of the nation that our prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) interacted with and sat with.

2- Arabic is distinguished from other languages in its vitality, flexibility of expression, breadth, and other features, such as conciseness, eloquence, and sound characteristics that make it the right choice for the language of the Holy Quran.

3- The multiplicity of aspects of miracle; and the miracle is not limited to the system and rhetoric, but includes the hidden news and the time of its occurrence, scientific and legislative miracles.

4- Every prophet challenged his people with what they were proficient in, so God distinguished Moses (peace be upon him) with the rod and the white hand because magic was widespread in his time, and as for the Arabs, they excelled in eloquence, rhetoric, poetry, and rhetoric.

5- Divine wisdom that the revelation of the Quran in Arabic and not in other languages was not accidental, but for precise reasons.


لماذا نزل القرآن باللغة العربية؟

طالما أن القرآن لكل البشرية فلماذا أنزل الله باللغة العربية دون غيرها؛
1- القرآن هو كتاب سماوي ينبغي أن ينزل بلغة الأمة التي كان يخالطها ويجلس معهم نبينا محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم).

2- تميز العربية عن غيرها؛ في قابليتها الحيوية ومرونة تعبيراتها وسعتها وما إليها من مميزات، من حيث الإيجاز والفصاحة والخصائص الصوتية التي تجعل من اختيارها لغة للقرآن الكريم هو الخيار الصحيح.

3- تعدد أوجه الإعجاز؛ ولا يقتصر الإعجاز على النظم والبلاغة وإنما يشمل الأخبار المغيبات ووقت وقوعها والإعجاز العلمي والتشريعي.

4- كان كل نبي يتحدى قومه بما كانوا هم بارعين فيه، فخص الله موسى (عليه السلام) بالعصا واليد البيضاء لما شاع السحر في زمانه، وأما عن العرب فقد برعت في البلاغة والفصاحة والشعر والخطابة.

5- حكمة إلهية بأن نزول القرآن باللغة العربية دون غيرها من اللغات لم يكن عفوياً، بل كان لأسباب دقيقة.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Do not make your homes into graves, for the devil flees from the house in which Surat al-Baqarah is recited." (Narrated by Muslim)


قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: {لا تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر، إن الشيطانَ ينفرُ من البيتِ الذي تُقرأُ فيه سورةُ البقرة}. رواه مسلم

4 Tips to Stabilize the Memorization of the Quran

The correct way to stabilize the memorization of the Holy Quran:

1- Start memorizing from Surat An-Nas to Surat Al-Baqarah; because it is easier.
2- After completing the memorization of the Quran, the review is from Surat Al-Baqarah to Surat An-Nas is better.
3- Always memorize from a unified mushaf, to be helpful for you to stabilize the memorization and quickly recall the location of the verses, the end of the pages, and the beginning of them.
4- Do not despair in the first two years of the memorization slipping away from you! This stage is called the "gathering stage".. Keep reviewing the memorization daily and over time you will notice the difference.


4 نصائح لتثبيت حفظ القرآن

الطريقة الصحيحة لتثبيت حفظ القرآن الكريم:

1- ابدأ الحفظ من سورة الناس إلى سورة البقرة؛ لأنه أيسر
2- بعد إتمام حفظ القرآن تكون المراجعة من سورة البقرة إلى سورة الناس أفضل
3- ليكن دائماً حفظك من مصحف موحد، ليكون معيناً لك على تثبيت الحفظ وسرعة استذكار مواطن الآيات وآواخر الصفحات وأوائلها.
4- لا تيأس في السنتين الأولى من تفلت الحفظ منك! فهذه المرحلة تسمى بـ "مرحلة التجميع".. واظب على مراجعة الحفظ يومياً ومع الوقت ستلاحظ الإختلاف.
