Empowering the Youth: OWWA Representatives Visit Al Taj International School

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is an attached agency of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) dedicated to promoting and protecting the welfare and well-being of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents. Through its continuous commitment and service, OWWA remains a vital government institution providing social, educational, financial, and emergency assistance to Filipinos working around the globe.

In line with this mission, representative officials of OWWA, led by Welfare Officer Ms. Jenny U. Umag and Administrative Staff Ms. Lellann L. Carballo, visited Al Taj International School on July 27, 2026, to conduct an informative orientation for Senior High School students regarding the agency's core programs and services.

The orientation was held to provide information to the students about the different programs and benefits that OWWA offers to OFWs and their families. The members of OWWA discussed various agency programs and welfare packages for OFWs, such as education scholarships, social services, financial assistance, and other emergency services designed to safeguard the welfare of the Filipino community abroad.

The Senior High School students were able to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of OWWA through interactive discussions. The interactive session helped students understand that public service is indeed an excellent avenue for them to contribute to their communities. Through this, the students were provided with valuable insights into the resources and opportunities available to support their families and future endeavors.

This event was an eye-opener for the Al Taj International School senior high students as it informed them about the different programs and services provided by OWWA to OFWs and their families. Above all, the students were inspired by the tremendous support and appreciation for public servants who dedicate their lives to serving the country, even abroad. Through this program, Al Taj International School showed its continuous commitment to guiding students toward becoming socially aware and empowered individuals.

📚 INSET 2026: Equipping Educators, Inspiring Excellence

As Al Taj International School prepares to welcome learners for School Year 2026–2027, our dedicated teaching force successfully completed the In-Service Training (INSET) held last July 5–8, 2026.

Over four days of intensive learning, collaboration, and professional development, our teachers participated in sessions focused on the latest educational policies, effective teaching strategies, learner assessment, classroom management, curriculum updates, and best practices in delivering quality education. The training also provided opportunities for team-building, meaningful discussions, and the sharing of innovative ideas that will enhance every learner’s classroom experience.

At Al Taj International School, we believe that excellent education begins with empowered educators. This annual INSET reflects our unwavering commitment to continuous growth, ensuring that every teacher is well-equipped to nurture, inspire, and guide our students toward academic excellence and holistic development.
