Four years ago, Layth walked through our doors as one of our founding students. As we watched him sit down with his father and ask the kind of thoughtful, curious questions that only come from a child who's grown confident in who he is, we couldn't help but feel proud.

In an era where almost everything is typed, swiped, and auto-corrected, a handwritten essay feels almost radical. That is precisely why our Principal, Ms. Shannon Pipes, launched the essay writing competition for students in Grades 6 to 9, inviting them to write about a thought-provoking question each week, and this time it's about Identity & Belonging, explored in the students' own words.
This is the first in an ongoing series, stay tuned for more student reflections in the weeks ahead.

A throwback to a milestone we'll always be proud of!
We hosted TEDxOWIS Riyadh Youth 2026 - our school's first-ever officially TED-licensed student speaker event. Guided by the theme Young Voices, Real Conversations, our Grade 6–9 students stepped up to share ideas that mattered to them, speaking with remarkable poise and conviction.
We were also privileged to welcome our guest speaker, Mr. Rayyan Housawi of Alfaisal University, Concept Academy & Danize Events, for his thought-provoking talk, The Absent Lecture.
Congratulations to all our student speakers for rising to the occasion so brilliantly, and a heartfelt thank you to the parents who joined us to celebrate and support them.
This time of year brings important decisions for many families, and we'd love to be part of the conversation.
Join our Principal for a warm, informal morning where you can ask questions, learn about our curriculum and community, and see what makes OWIS Riyadh a place where every child belongs. We look forward to welcoming you!
