Chronic musculoskeletal pain and recurring injuries usually stem from unresolved stress trapped in the body. Athletes and competitive sportsmen and women subject their bodies to ever-increasing physical and emotional stress. When these ongoing stressors combine with pre-existing unresolved physical and emotional trauma, the outcome is chronic pain and injury.
Looking at it from another perspective, the presence of chronic or recurring injuries indicates that the body is defensively bracing itself against continuous or past stress and overwhelm. This bracing occurs not at the site of pain but elsewhere in the body, with symptoms manifesting as a result.
The challenge lies in identifying and releasing this bracing, presented as fascia restrictions. The key is a comprehensive full-body assessment, as our bodies show specific bracing patterns unique to each individual, even when experiencing seemingly identical symptoms.
Book your Lyno session and let’s get you back to a balanced, pain free body!

Chronic pain and recurring injuries stem from the body’s retention of past injuries or excessive strain, predominantly stored within the fascia. When the mobility of the fascia is restricted, it leads to misalignment and impaired movement, ultimately causing overload and wear and tear—the underlying cause of chronic and recurring injuries. Through our comprehensive full body assessment, we precisely identify areas of movement restriction, allowing us to effectively facilitate the release of unresolved trauma. This process harmonizes the body and mind, restoring balance and maximizing overall functionality.

Chronic pain has become one of the most common ‘medical conditions’ in recent times.
All medical aids make special provision for chronic medications, with the main focus on suppressing symptoms, while very little attention is given to the cause.
Fortunately there is currently a huge turn towards BodyMind medicine, linking these chronic conditions to the autonomic nervous system.
Whenever we become stressed, our survival mind recalls previous similar events and responds automatically in the same way as before.
Our bodies brace up in a protective pattern, unique for each individual, and it is these patterns of bracing, that are the main cause of chronic symptoms.
This is why we get the same headaches, back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain etc., every time we become stressed.
Once we realise this and we can find the pattern in which our bodies automatically brace in, it opens the gateway to change.
When we connect to the autonomic nervous system, we create the opportunity to form new neural pathways and to close pathways which do not serve us. Notice how your mood changes when you change your posture from slumping to standing upright.
The answer to chronic pain lies in our bodies, in the exploration of our feelings, emotions, how we carry ourselves and how we move. Book your session for a holistic approach to healing body and mind.
