Fasting six days of Shawwal after fasting Ramadan makes it as if one has fasted for an entire year of obligatory fasts, because the multiplication of the reward applies even to nafl fasts, because each hasanah brings the reward of ten like it.

Another of the important benefits of fasting six days of Shawwal is that it makes up for any shortfall in a person's obligatory Ramadan fasts, because no one is free of shortcomings or sins that have a negative effect on his fasting.

Virtues of laylat al-qadr

* “The night of al-Qadr is better than a thousand months” [al-Qadr 97:3].
It is the night when the Quran was sent down.
“We sent it (this Qur’aan) down on a blessed night” [al-Dukhaan 44:3]

Ibn ‘Abbaas and others said: “Allaah sent down the Qur’aan at one time from al-Lawh al-Mahfooz to Bayt al-‘Izzah in the first heaven, then it was revealed to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in stages according to events over twenty-three years.”
(Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 4/529)

* On this night many angels come down and decrees for the coming year are ordained.
“Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments” [al-Dukhaan 44:4]

* The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to strive hard (in worship) during the last ten days of Ramadaan in a way that he did not strive at any other times. [Muslim, 1175]
Among the things he did were secluding himself in I’tikaaf and seeking Laylat al-Qadr during this time. (Al-Bukhaari, 1913; Muslim, 1169)
Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) reported that when the last ten days of Ramadaan came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would stay up at night, wake his family and gird his loins. (al-Bukhaari, 1920; Muslim, 1174)
Thus a Muslim should strive hard to stay up and worship Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala during these blessed nights as these are the nights of great value and forgiveness.

An Amazing opportunity for us Muslims to get our sins forgiven in this Holy Month of Ramadan.

This can only be attained by fasting sincerely and abstaining from all those things that are prohibited and not beneficial for us.

Jabir ibn Abdillah رضي الله عنه said:
“When you fast, let your hearing, sight, and tongue abstain from lying and sinning. Leave off harming the servant. Be dignified and serene on the day of your fast, and do not let the day you fast and the day in which you do not fast be the same.”
‎[ مصنف ابن أبي شيبة (8965)]

Ramadan and piety:
Taqwa means piety and fasting has been prescribed by Allah subhanahu wa’taala during the month of Ramadan, so that by fasting one may attain taqwa. To lead a pious life it is very important to be sincere and true fasting makes a person sincere. Apart from giving up eating and drinking, a person who fasts should abstain from indecent behaviour like backbiting, quarrelling, telling lies, using bad language and indulging in wrong practices.

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever does not give up false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need of him giving up his food and drink.” [Sahih al-Bukhari 6057]

The month of Ramadan is shortly approaching and it’s arrival is very important to all Muslims.

A month in which the Quran was revealed.

A month in which Allah subhanahu wa’taala frees people from Hellfire every night.

A month in which the gates of Hellfire are closed and the gates of Paradise are opened.

A month in which acts of worship are rewarded abundantly.

A month in which there is Layat al Qadr, which is better than a thousand months and more.

A month in which we practice restraint. Which helps us realize that we have the ability to leave off the bad habits.

A month in which we practice to be a better person and keep up those habits throughout the year.

A month in which the community comes together & love flourishes.

* Suratul Kahf
Read suratul kahf for immense blessings
Abu Darda’ reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surat Al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal.
(Sahih muslim Book 004, Hadith 1766)

* Dua(Supplication)
Make dua between asr and maghrib
Narrated from Jabir ibn ‘Abd-Allah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Friday is twelve hours in which there is no Muslim who asks Allaah for something but He will give it to him, so seek the last hour after ‘Asr.”
[Abu Dawood (1048) and al-Nasai (1389)]

* Salawat
Send lots of salawat {durood} upon the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold and will erase from him ten misdeeds and raise him ten degrees in status.” [Narrated by an-Nasaa’i (1297)]

Umm Salamah bint Abi Umayyah
(May Allah be pleased with her)
Her full name was Hind bint Abi Umayya ibn al-Mughira.

She was among the first of those women to migrate to Madina.
She was married to Prophet Muhammad ‎صلى الله عليه وسلم after she became a widow when her husband Abu Salamah was martyred in the battle of Uhud.

She had an immense knowledge of Quran and used to recite Quran abundantly. She was always eager in seeking knowledge and was keen in educating her children. She narrated from the Prophet ‎صلى الله عليه وسلم many traditions and was an advisor on legal issues until her death.

Zaynab bint Khuzaymah رضي الله عنها was the sixth wife of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.

She was married to Ubaydullah ibn al Harith, who was one of the martyrs from the battle of Badr. So, in order to support her and uplift her circumstances the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم proposed to marry her, which she readily accepted.

After only eight months of her marriage to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم she passed away in 4H.
She was the second wife, who passed away before the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, first being Khadeejah رضي الله عنها.

Zaynab bint Jahsh رضي الله عنها was the fifth wife of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Before marrying the Prophet, she was married to Zayd ibn Harithah (freed slave of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم).

Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم’s marriage to Zaynab was a peculiar case whose aim was to eradicate a deeply rooted pre-Islamic tradition: the adoption of children.

“...So when Zaid had accomplished his desire from her (i.e. divorced her), We gave her to you in marriage, so that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the believers in respect of (the marriage of) the wives of their adopted sons when the latter have no desire to keep them (i.e. they have divorced them). And Allah's Command must be fulfilled.” (Al-Ahzab 33:37)

She was a very kind and generous woman. Whatever money she would get from the state or from her work, she gave it to the poor.

Zaynab رضي الله عنها died in 20H. During the Caliphate of Umar رضي الله عنه.
