ASDβs high school student clubs came together to celebrate service, gratitude and community during the Eid Appreciation Event held on Saturday, May 16, on the ASD campus. πβ¨
Co-hosted by the Compassion Action Club alongside the Parent Teacher Group, Best Buddies, Helping Hands and Habitat for Humanity, the event honored ASDβs custodial staff for their dedication to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for the school community.
More than 70 custodians were recognized and enjoyed a catered lunch and special giveaways thoughtfully prepared by ASD students. Through meaningful acts of kindness and hospitality, students demonstrated ASDβs commitment to compassion, leadership and community engagement. π
Special thanks to Ms. Rasha Al Nasr, Ms. Kat Oefelein and Mr. Richard Smith for organizing the event and for their continued support and guidance of ASD students as they lead impactful community initiatives that reflect the schoolβs core values.

ππͺ Innovation is taking off in STEM class as students work on an exciting mega project: designing and building a three-dimensional colony on Mars.
As they create their colonies, students are exploring the major differences between Earth and Mars, including climate, atmosphere, gravity and living conditions to design spaces that support safety, comfort, entertainment and a high quality of life for future residents.
Through research, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving, students are bringing their visions of life on Mars to reality with detailed 3D models. ππ¬β¨

ASDβs U19 girls football team captured the NESAC championship in Bahrain, marking a historic achievement for the program. πβ½
Competing against seven schools from across the region, the Scorpions opened with an 8-0 win and advanced to the final as the No. 2 seed. Despite a delayed start, ASD delivered a composed performance, defeating AISK Lions 3-1 to secure the title.
Led by their coaches Ms. Lorin Ressler and Ms. Celeste Guerrero served as the assistant coach. Mr. Orion Cervio supported the team as a chaperone, the teamβs focus and resilience defined the tournament. The victory also marks the first time in school history that both U19 girls and boys teams reached the finals. π¦π

Through their expertise, compassion and daily care, ASD nurses ensure students are safe, supported and ready to learn. From responding to immediate needs to promoting long-term wellness, their work is essential to a strong and thriving school environment.

Exploring the Kingdom through collaboration and learning! πβ¨
Last week in Arabic class, ASD middle school students took part in an interactive, hands-on activity focused on the regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Working in teams, students collaborated with their peers to identify, name and locate regions across the country while strengthening their geography and Arabic language skills.
The activity encouraged communication, teamwork and critical thinking as students connected classroom learning to the culture and geography of Saudi Arabia in an engaging and meaningful way.

Leadership, mentorship and fun in action! ππββοΈ
On Thursday, ASDβs high school leadership class reunited with their elementary school buddies for an outdoor morning filled with bonding activities, tag and hide-and-seek games.
The session created opportunities for students to strengthen friendships, build trust and develop meaningful connections across grade levels.
Through mentorship and play-based interaction, high school students practiced leadership, communication and teamwork skills while serving as positive role models for their younger peers. Elementary students also benefited from an encouraging environment that promoted confidence, inclusion and community building.
Programs like these reflect ASDβs commitment to student leadership and encouraging a supportive school culture where students learn from and inspire one another both inside and outside the classroom. πβ¨

ASDβs boys U19 football team claimed the 2026 NESAC championship in Bahrain earlier this year, following a standout performance from Feb. 11β15. πβ½
Competing against seven schools, ASD finished the pool stage as the No. 1 seed and advanced to a thrilling final. After trailing early, the Scorpions fought back to force a penalty shootout, securing a 5-4 victory to clinch the title. π₯
Led by head coach Ms. Sarah McAulay and assistant coach Ms. Chona Panuela with Mr. Orion Cervio serving as chaperone, the teamβs success reflects the dedication of its student athletes and coaches. π
