Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at those working in the catering industry who are at, or wish to progress to, a higher or supervisory level.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake a minimum of 20 hours of learning.

Job Description

Responsible for training clients on a variety of Environmental Health and Safety related programs such as, Work at Heights, Hoisting and Rigging, Confined Space Entry, First Aid, Elevating Work Platform, Forklift Operation, etc. This training will include all relevant tracking and documentation required for each program.
Provide timely feedback to management and supervisors in regard to the training programs provided.
Participate in training team meetings and training-related projects.
Liaise with Government agencies and client representatives.
Technical resource for jurisdictional Occupational Health & Safety Acts, Regulations and applicable standards
• Well developed communication skills, writing skills and computer literacy in the English language.

• Accomplished ability in public speaking in the English language.

OSHA now requires operator certification by “type, or type and capacity” and has strengthened its qualification requirements by reinstating an employer's duty to ensure safe operation of cranes.

Specific Training Objectives:
To ensure that overhead crane and hoist operators have the knowledge and skills required to recognize equipment deficiencies when conducting required inspections during use.
To ensure that all personnel who operate cranes and hoists understand their responsibilities for safe use, and they comply with all OSHA training requirements as a competent person.
Course Overview:
This training may include top running overhead bridge cranes, under hung cranes, monorail hoists, gantry cranes, and jib cranes. Presented in an easy to understand manner, operators learn how to maintain safety, how to control loads, and become the first line of defense in accident avoidance. Technical training combined with hands-on training ensures competency of your personnel and allows them to learn from seasoned professionals.

Overhead crane operators generally work outside for construction companies or inside for warehouses, and are responsible for operating overhead cranes using remote-controlled equipment to transport goods. They are required to wear various safety gear, such as protective clothing, hard hats, special shoes, etc. Those who work at construction sites must be able to tolerate various weather conditions and be physically fit, as their work involves manual labor
