Today, we honor a true legend of the Department of Mathematics, University of Gujrat.

Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed, Chairperson (2016-2026) has retired from active service after decades of exemplary service.

A renowned Mathematician & Cosmologist, PhD from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, Sir is among the World's Top 2% Scientists.

His remarkable contributions:

🔭 Research Area: Cosmology & Mathematical Modeling

He served as Head (2009-2016) and Chairperson (2016-2026) and shaped generations of students with his knowledge, humility, and cooperation.

For me personally, he was not just my PhD teacher but a great mentor, a very humble and cooperative guide. Sir, your lessons go far beyond mathematics — patience, integrity and dedication.

Sir, thank you for everything. The Department will miss you, but your legacy will live on.

May Allah grant you a long, healthy, and peaceful retired life. Jazak Allah Khair!

​The Finance Department, Government of the Punjab, has officially notified the Revision of Basic Pay Scales and Allowances 2026 for civil servants.
​Key Highlights:
​🗓️ Effective Date: 1st July 2026
​📈 New Pay Scales: Basic Pay Scales 2026 replace BPS-2022
​💵 Adhoc Relief: 7% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2026 granted on BPS-2026 running basic pay
​🚗 Conveyance Allowance: Enhanced rates for BPS-01 to BPS-16 & above
​♿ Special Conveyance Allowance: Increased to Rs. 10,000/month for disabled employees
