Dar Al-Hekma University is the pioneering project of the Ilm Foundation, which was established in 1999 with the objective of providing state of the art higher educational facilities and services through academic institutions such as colleges and universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Located in the cosmopolitan city of Jeddah, on the shores of the Red Sea, the University has been built and equipped to the highest international standards and designed to provide the best teaching and educational resources and facilities for its students, faculty and staff. Dar Al-Hekma University is housed in one integrated structure consisting of 26,500 square meters, which can accommodate up to 1,500 students. The academic space includes classrooms, computer labs, science labs, faculty and administrative offices, and a library, all of which are equipped to provide a state-of-the-art learning environment. Employer Achievement award
Dar Al-Hekma University won the "Employer Achievement Award" during the Talent & Diversity Leadership Forum, held in Riyadh in November 2013. Dar Al-Hekma is the first educational institution to win this ward at the Talent & Diversity Leadership Forum. The initiative was endorsed by the Ministry of Labor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and organized by Naseba in collaboration with Talent Enterprise. Student Life
The Division of Student Affairs provides students with services and experiences that enrich their academic programs. This is accomplished by the provision of co-curricular activities that support women's personal development. These opportunities are designed to assist in the development of the whole person-intellectually, spiritually, socially, culturally and physically. The division's primary goals are to:
Provide effective services and programs that enhance the academic experience and recognize and reaffirm the significant leadership role of women as the first educators of the nation
Supplement the classroom environment with co-curricular learning experiences that challenge women to strive for achievement of their full potential as significant contributors to the family, society and humanity at large
Foster a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages creativity, self-direction, personal responsibility and initiative
Graduate knowledgeable individuals who value service and leadership, and are capable of making ethical decisions and will lead through example
Social Responsibility
Students & Faculty at Dar Al-Hekma are required to do community service. The service learning instructional methodology at the university integrates community service with academic instruction as it focuses on critical, reflective thinking and civic responsibility. Community service builds leadership skills, teamwork, a sense of citizenship and other skills that cannot be acquired in the classroom.
