The Hadith:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Why would one of you kill his brother? If one of you sees something he admires in his brother, let him pray for blessing upon him.”
(Narrated by al-Nasa’i and others, authenticated by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami‘, no. 4020).
Meaning:
The Prophet ﷺ warned that failing to pray for blessing when seeing something admirable in another person may harm them through the evil eye. It is as if one kills his brother by neglecting this. Instead, the Sunnah is to say: “O Allah, bless him” (اللهم بارك لهAllahummah baarik lahu), so that admiration does not turn into harm.

The Danger of Sleeping Through Fajr Prayer
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān — may Allah preserve him — said:
“Whoever prefers the love of sleep over the love of Allah and His Messenger will remain on his bed and not respond to Allah’s call. The Shayṭān urinates in his ear and ties three knots on him, saying: ‘Sleep, you have a long night ahead.’
His punishment in the grave will be that his head is smashed with a stone — every time it is smashed, it returns as it was — because he used to be sluggish about Fajr Prayer.”

The Prophet ﷺ used to say:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sorrow, from weakness and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being [wronged/dominated/oppressed] by others..”
— Sahih al-Bukhari (Hadith No. 6369)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“There is no envy except in two cases:
A man whom Allah has given the Qur’an and he recites it throughout the night and the day;
and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it [in charity] throughout the night and the day.”
— Sahih Muslim 815
In this hadith, “envy” means lawful envy, which is called ghibṭa الغِبْطَة in Arabic — it means to wish you had the same blessing without wishing it be taken away from the other person.
